Lindsey Buckingham confirmed his years-long feud with Stevie Nicks is over.
âStevie and I are talking all the time now,â Buckingham told E! News at Varietyâs Power of Young Hollywood event on Thursday.
The 76-year-old musician also teased that ânext year should be a pretty interesting yearâ with the release of a Fleetwood Mac documentary tied to the 50th anniversary of the bandâs 1977 album âRumours.â
âBecause I think quite a few things will reveal themselves,â he said.
While Buckingham dodged a question about a possible tour, he said âthe most important thingâ is that the groupâs surviving members â himself, Nicks, 78, Mick Fleetwood and John McVie â have reconciled and can work together again.
âI think the process of making that has been a very circular healing process for all of us,â he shared. âBecause we had left things in 2019, maybe as far as I was concerned, not in a very good place for all the wrong reasons.â
Buckingham added, âNo one was happy about it, and all of that has been healed and worked out.â
Last year, Buckingham and Nicks showed they were able to mend fences by coming together to remaster and re-release their first and only album, âBuckingham Nicks. â
The former bandmates famously dated from 1972 to 1978, and split while recording the âRumoursâ album.
In 1997, Nicks told Rolling Stone that she âresentedâ lyrics Buckingham penned in âGo Your Own Way,â with lines insinuating the singer was âpacking up, shacking upâ with different men after their breakup.
âHe knew it wasnât true. It was just an angry thing that he said. Every time those words would come onstage, I wanted to go over and kill him,â explained Nicks. âHe knew it, so he really pushed my buttons through that. It was like, âIâll make you suffer for leaving me.ââ
They both stayed in Fleetwood Mac until Buckingham was fired following a behind-the-scenes altercation in 2018.
Nicks and Buckingham allegedly didnât speak again until the celebration of life for former bandmate Christine McVie, who died in 2022 at age 79.
âThe only time Iâve spoken to Lindsey was there, for about three minutes,â Nicks told Rolling Stone in 2024.Â
âI dealt with Lindsey for as long as I could,â she expressed. âYou could not say that I did not give him more than 300 million chances.â
