The co-parent trap.
Dennis Quaid and ex-wife Kimberly Buffington reunited at their son Thomasâ high school graduation on Wednesday.
While the former couple was seated separately during the Los Angeles ceremony, they put on a united front while posing for pictures with the 18-year-old graduate and his twin sister, Zoe.
Buffington, 54, sported a cream top and skirt set for the event, while her former spouse, 72, suited up for the occasion.
The actor, who spoke at the graduation, attended with wife Laura Savoie, whom he wed in 2020.
The outing came one week after Page Six confirmed Quaidâs filing to terminate his child support payments to Buffington for their kids.
In May court documents, the âDay After Tomorrowâ star noted that his 2018 divorce agreement stated payments would end when Thomas and Zoe finished their senior year.
The latter, notably, graduated on May 23.
The Golden Globe nomineeâs rep did not respond to Page Sixâs request for comment at the time.
Quaid previously asked to have his child support payments lowered in 2020 â only for the sum to be raised âbased on the reasonable needs of Thomas and Zoe.â
In addition to the teens, the Emmy nominee is the father of âThe Boysâ actor Jack Quaid, whom he shares with his second wife, Meg Ryan.
He and the âWhen Harry Met Sallyâ star, 64, both attended their sonâs April wedding to Claudia Doumit in Australia.
The exes were married from 1991 to 2001, following Quaidâs first marriage to actress P.J. Soles, a five-year union that ended in divorce in 1983.
As for his marriage to Buffington, Quaid wed the real estate agent in 2004, with the duo welcoming their twins via surrogate in 2007 before finally calling it quits in 2016 â after multiple separations.
Their divorce was finalized in 2018.
Quaid and his fourth wife have a 39-year age gap, which the âFar From Heavenâ star dismissed in a 2019 Guardian interview.
âIt really doesnât bother us,â he insisted, denying he went âout lookingâ for a younger woman. âYou have no control over who you fall in love with. ⊠I canât let what a few people think control all that.â
