David and Victoria Beckham own glamorous homes all over the world, but their Cotswolds mansion has perhaps the most unusual feature. Taking to Instagram previously, football legend David, 51, revealed the hen house at his £12 million home in Great Tew, Oxfordshire, which is a rather impressive structure featuring a window and a ladder for easy access.

The hen house is also fenced off from the rest of the sprawling garden, which features raised vegetable beds and a large greenhouse, though, as David’s video shows, the star isn’t averse to having his chickens follow him around outdoors.

The set-up received quite the reaction online from David’s legion of fans. “Perfect garden…love the greenhouse and chook castle,” wrote one follower, while another added: “My dream greenhouse. What I could grow in that!”

One fan even jokingly dubbed the hen house “Peckingham Palace,” and another suggested the chickens go by the “Peckhams”.

The Beckhams’ pile in the Cotswolds is the ultimate country retreat. The family purchased the home in 2016, and it features a swimming pool, as well as nine bedrooms, four bathrooms, a cinema, and a gym.

The pad, which sits over 14,270 square feet, also boasts a football pitch in the back garden, and in 2018, it was revealed that David had purchased a plunge pool and a traditional Estonian sauna for their outdoor space.

The Beckhams’ city abode

Their mainstay UK home is in London. The A-listers purchased their Grade II-listed Holland Park abode in 2013 before extensively renovating it to the tune of around £5 million. They didn’t move in until 2016.

Renowned designer Rose Uniacke was enlisted to overhaul the property, having been chosen based on her reputation for creating serene and refined luxury spaces. When interviewed by the Telegraph shortly after the Beckhams moved in, Rose kept her lips sealed about what the interior of the home looks like, but she did dispel a myth that circulated at the time.

In response to being asked if there were matching his and hers hair salons and four basement nail bars, Rose said: “There is nothing like that.”
