Country artist RaeLynn and her husband, Josh Davis, have split after 10 years of marriage.
âAfter much thought and prayer, I have made the difficult decision to file for divorce. This has not been an easy decision,â RaeLynn, 32, shared in a statement via Instagram on Tuesday, July 14. âAs a working mom, I am committed to giving my daughter the love, stability, and support she will need while we navigate this next chapter together.â
She continued, âI am grateful for the love and encouragement of my family, friends, and fans, and I respectfully ask for privacy as we move forward with grace and compassion.â
In court documents obtained by Us Weekly, RaeLynn filed for divorce from Davis on June 8 in Davidson County, Tennessee. TMZ cited irreconcilable differences as the reason behind the split, with RaeLynn seeking primary custody. The now-estranged couple share daughter Daisy, born in 2021.
After meeting at church in 2012, RaeLynn and Davis became friends before their relationship turned into something more. Davis popped the question to the Voice contestant in 2015.
âOMG Iâm getting married!â RaeLynn gushed to Us at the time. âMy life has been so crazy with my singing career and traveling and being 21, but you canât plan when youâre gonna meet âThe One.â When itâs right, you just have to go with it.â
âHe makes me better at everything I do,â she continued. âI canât wait to spend the rest of my life with him. Did that really just happen??? Time to workout really hard to look good in that white dress.â
The pair tied the knot the following year in Nashville surrounded by loved ones.
âI was looking over the RSVP list and seeing whoâs all coming, and itâs just a reminder of how blessed I am,â she told Us in 2016. âWhen I moved to Nashville, you know, I didnât know anybody, and now Iâm having a wedding here, and half of the people Iâm inviting are people that Iâve met here, and just to have known that Iâve built all these relationships in three years, and that these are people that Iâll know forever is just so cool.â
Shortly after saying âI do,â Davis enlisted in the army.
âItâs just made us stronger,â the musician told People in 2020. âWhen he was gone for basic training, I was writing him letters every day. After that 14 weeks [apart], when we saw each other, we cried and we both were like, âWe can now get through anything.ââ
