Christie Brinkleyâs daughter couldâve been her twin in the supermodelâs latest social media post, which saw her celebrating a friendâs wedding in a tropical location. The 72-year-old took to Instagram to share a carousel of photos from her getaway with her youngest daughter, Sailor Brinkley-Cook, as they dressed to the nines for a destination wedding.
While Christie looked incredible in a striped wrap dress and an eye-catching pendant necklace, Sailor wowed in a burnt orange gown with a plunging cowl neckline, complete with a large pendant necklace.
They both wore their blonde locks down and looked just like twins as they raised their arms in the air in a matching pose. âSophie and Tylerâs Wedding Part One Ile de Bandor,â Christie wrote in the caption. âYou and Sailor looked beautiful!!â said one fan in the comment section, while another added: âYou and Sailor would be the show-stopper of [the] wedding.â
Christie is embracing her freedom in her 70s, and recently shared with Social Life magazine that she had never felt better. âI think that, with age, you getâŠfreer,â she told the outlet. âYou do what you wanna do when you wanna do it. I think that thereâs a freedom that comes with age, and thatâs quite wonderful.âÂ
âYou know what you like. You know what you donât like,â she continued. âAnd you donât feel like you have to put up with the stuff that you donât like anymore.â
âOf course, my life has had a million ups and downs, highs and lows, tragedies and scandals and all of the above,â the mother of three added. âBut I think that, throughout it all, Iâve always been grateful for wherever I am in the moment. I always say that Iâm happiest in the moment.â
Christie has clearly passed on her incredible confidence to Sailor, who works as a model just like her famous mother. The 28-year-old got candid about her past body image struggles in May, after a social media user criticized her legs.Â
âIâve always had very strong legs, and because of this screwed up world and all the beauty standards pushed at us from such a young age, I thought that my strong legs were something to be ashamed of,â she said in an Instagram video.Â
âFor so much of my life, I didnât wear the skirt, didnât wear the shorts, didnât wear the minidress. I thought everyone was staring at my âthickâ thighs. My âhugeâ calves,â she continued.
âIâve done a lot of work surrounding my body image and self-esteem over the years. As you get older, you donât want to waste any more time hating your body. It just gets so [expletive] boring.â
Sailor added that it was her âdutyâ to showcase her athletic legs and defy the expectation that models should all be stick-thin. âRemember guys: Itâs a waste of time to hate your body, itâs disrespectful to not appreciate it and wear the [expletive] shorts and the minidress,â she concluded.Â
