Cameron Diaz, 53, became a mother for the third time as she and her rock star husband Benji Madden, 47, welcomed a son called Nautus on Monday 4 May.
Benji shared the happy news via Instagram, writing: “Cameron and I are Happy, Excited, and feeling so BLESSED to announce the birth of our third Child, Nautas Madden. Welcome to the world Son!!
“We love life with our family – our kids are healthy and happy, and we are grateful!!! Having a blast. Sending all our best wishes,” the jubilant dad signed the post off from “the Madden Family”, and his wife Cameron shared a series of heart and sparkle emojis in the comments.
The caption was accompanied by a picture of a ship in the form of a character card, which explained the origin of baby Nautus’ unusual name: “Sailor, navigator, voyager. One who embarks on a journey and fears not the unknown.”
The couple tied the knot in 2015, and are already parents to a daughter called Raddix, born in 2019, and a son called Cardinal, born in 2024.
Cameron spoke to Naomi Campbell on her YouTube series No Filter about becoming a mother in her fourth decade, explaining: “Having a family when you’re young…it’s like anything when you’re young: You do it. But when you’re my age and you decide to do it, it’s a real choice. You really have to work hard for it.” She also added that “the only pressure for me now is I have to live to be, like, 107, you know? No pressure!”
The choice to welcome children via surrogate came after the couple struggled with infertility, turning to IVF, accupuncture and supplements in their quest to have a baby, according to Us Weekly. “They went through so much to get to this point,” a source told the publication when the couple welcomed Raddix. “Cameron feels like this baby is truly a miracle.”
