Bunnie XO has broken her silence for the first time following her split from country star Jelly Roll (real name Jason Bradley DeFord), after news broke in June that he had filed for divorce back in May.

The 46-year-old podcaster, who married Jelly Roll in 2016 on the same day that he proposed to her, got candid about the explosive fight that led to their demise, and how their IVF journey put tension on their marriage.

“[Jelly Roll] and I have never really been good at having disagreements,” Bunnie began on her hit podcast, Dumb Blonde, before adding that they were “the type of couple who never argued”.

“So, he would be holding things in. I would be holding things in, and that’s a recipe for disaster,” she explained. “On Mother’s Day, we had a little bit of an argument, which I don’t think the details are necessary. And, in that argument, I was so fed up and so tired that I just looked at him and said, ‘Well, then file the [expletive] divorce papers.”

Bunnie, whose real name is Alisa DeFord, described the pair as “the most unconventional couple that you guys have ever encountered,” and shared that they were in the middle of settling their divorce. She also shocked fans by revealing they still planned to welcome a baby together, amid their IVF journey.

“We’re going to co-parent together. J is my best friend. Like, this isn’t what you guys think this is,” she said. “Nobody cheated on the other person. It’s literally just we served our purpose for each other.”

“It is not a beautiful journey. It wrecked me,” she said of IVF, adding that she became a “shell” and Jelly Roll was a “nightmare to be around” once they began taking hormones. The former couple also suffered four lost embryos and three failed transfers, which Bunnie described as “gut-wrenching”.

The star shared that her ex-husband was already dating again and that she was “happy for him”. Despite their divorce, it is clear that the duo intend to remain in each other’s lives. “He is my best friend. I love that man more than life itself,” she said on the podcast, calling him her “twin flame” and “soulmate”.

Bunnie is a loving stepmother to Jelly Roll’s two children, Bailee Ann, 18, and Noah, nine, and previously shared that the couple had found a surrogate to help them welcome a third child together.

While Jelly Roll is yet to comment on his divorce from Bunnie XO, Bailee Ann hit back at social media users online after the news went viral. “I am disgusted at how invested everyone is in a very clearly private family matter,” she wrote on TikTok on June 16. “Go on somewhere, y’all. Worry ’bout your house – not mine.”
