Britney Spears invited police officers to her house for lasagna and to use her pool during her March DUI arrest, according to newly released footage.
âYou can come to my house. Iâll make you food or lasagna or whatever you want. I have a pool,â Spears, 44, told officers when she was pulled over by the California Highway Patrol in Ventura County, California, on March 4, as seen in a video published by TMZ on Thursday, May 21.
Spears also spoke in a British accent at times, per a police report obtained by Us Weekly.
âHer mood changed from confrontational and agitated to flamboyant and compliant,â the arresting officer noted in his report.
The police report noted that the officer who pulled the singer over detected a âdistinct odor of an alcoholic beverageâ from her vehicle. Spears told officers she had had only one champagne mimosa seven hours earlier.
âI could probably drink four bottles of wine and take care of you. Iâm an angel,â she said.
According to the report, the âWomanizerâ singer confirmed she had taken prescription drugs on the day of her arrest, including 200mg of anticonvulsant and mood stabilizer Lamictal, 40mg of antidepressant Prozac and 2.5 mg of ADHD medication Adderall.
â[An officer] located a brown purse that contained a bottle of pills labeled âAdderall,â which were not prescribed to Spears,â the report said. â[The officer] also observed an empty wine glass in the cup holder between the front driver seat and passenger seat.â
Us Weekly reached out to Spearsâ representative for comment.
Spears was initially charged with driving under the influence, but the star pleaded guilty to the lesser charge of âwet reckless drivingâ earlier in May as part of a plea deal.
âThrough her plea today, Britney has accepted responsibility for her conduct,â Spearsâ lawyer, Michael Goldstein, told Us in a statement on May 4. âShe has taken significant steps to implement positive change, which is clearly reflected in the Ventura County District Attorneyâs decision to reduce the charge in this case and dismiss the DUI. Britney appreciates this discretion and is also grateful for the outpouring of support she has received.â
âThis was an unfortunate incident that is completely inexcusable,â Spearsâ spokesperson told Us following her arrest in March. âBritney is going to take the right steps and comply with the law, and hopefully this can be the first step in long overdue change that needs to occur in Britneyâs life. Hopefully, she can get the help and support she needs during this difficult time.â
