Barron Trump arrived at Donald Trumpâs State of the Union address on Tuesday in his first public appearance since his fatherâs inauguration in January 2025. The 19-year-old sat beside his siblings Ivanka, Eric, Donald Jr. and Tiffany at the Washington, D.C. event, clad in a black suit with a blue tie.
The tie is a break from usual protocol at major political events, with Republicans often sporting red ties in line with their party color, while blue typically represents the Democratic Party. Barronâs own brothers wore red ties, as did Donald as he made the address.
The NYU sophomore prefers to remain out of the spotlight, and even skipped his fatherâs address to Congress in March 2025, despite his siblings making an appearance. Although he keeps a low profile, Barron is developing an interest in politics and gave advice to Donald during his 2024 election campaign.
âHe understands now, heâs involved,â his mother, Melania Trump, told Fox News. âHe knows whatâs going on in the world. He talks with his dad. He talks with me.â
âHe was very involved in the campaign,â she added. âHe gave him all of the ideas, who he needs to talk to, all of these YouTubers and podcasts. So he was, really, a smart mind behind it.â
âHe knows his generation, because nowadays the young generation, they donât sit in front of the TV anymore,â Melania shared with Fox & Friends. âTheyâre all on the tablets, theyâre on the phones, and all of these podcasts and streamers.â
Donaldâs senior campaign adviser, Jason Miller, reiterated this during an appearance on the Politico Playbook Deep Dive podcast. âBarron has been very involved in recommending a number of the podcasts that we should do,â he explained.

âIâve got to tell you, hats off to the young man. Every single recommendation heâs had has turned out to be absolute ratings gold thatâs broken the internet.âÂ
Barron made headlines in January when it was revealed that he allegedly âsavedâ a womanâs life after she called him during an alleged attack by her ex-boyfriend.
A UK court heard that Barron had reportedly grown close to the woman online and that her ex-boyfriend had grown jealous of their friendship. The woman claimed that she had called Barron on FaceTime when her ex-boyfriend began to attack her, leading the student to allegedly witness the attack and call the police.
âI just got a call from a girl I know. Sheâs getting beaten up,â he could be heard saying in the call placed on January 18, 2025, as reported by Metro UK. âItâs really an emergency, please. I got a call from her with a guy beating her up.â When law enforcement arrived on the scene, they asked the woman to call Barron back to ask if he was the one who rang for help.
He responded: âI called you guys â that was the best thing I could do. I wasnât going to call back and threaten things to him because that would just make the situation worse.âÂ
