It was an explosive end to the latest series of I’m a Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here, with not just one but two cast members storming out.
The live final saw Adam Thomas crowned the Jungle Legend, before hosts Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly had heated words with campmate Jimmy Bullard and David Haye while discussing an on-screen argument with Adam, at the end of which castmates Gemma Collins and Sinitta walked off stage.
Since then, Ant and Dec have taken to their joint Instagram account to share photos from their time in South Africa, but didn’t acknowledge the chaotic end to the series.
“And that’s a wrap on I’m A Celebrity… South Africa! What a series!” were the words accompanying a series of photos from the show.
The ‘photo dump’ contained a series of what appeared to be disposable camera photos from behind the scenes of the show.
Scarlette Moffatt, who was also on stage during the live final, replied, writing: “We bloody love you two,” alongside two red love heart emojis.
Meanwhile, fans of the show commended Ant and Dec for how they handled the on-screen drama. “You two are amazing!!! Well done for how you handled last night. True legends & gentlemen, which is why you are both loved by so many. Looking forward to watching you on BGT tonight x,” one fan penned.
A second added: “Well played last night, felt like I was watching TOWIE.” Meanwhile, a third added: “Best presenters, any situation that arises, you don’t crumble under pressure! [red love heart].”
What happened?
After Adam was crowned, his fellow campmate Jimmy Bullard accused the actor of being “abusive, aggressive and intimidating” in a confrontation during the show.
The episode became chaotic after David Haye joined in the conversation to accuse the show of editing footage to make Thomas look like a “victim” and, after defending the actor, Sinitta and Gemma Collins walked off set.
During the discussion of their row on the show, Jimmy claimed Adam dropped “c-bombs” which were not aired, and asked Ant and Dec to weigh in as they had “front row seats”.
McPartlin disagreed that the exchange was aggressive and said, “No, it wasn’t, I was there.”
Adam responded by saying he took “full responsibility” for his actions and he has “nothing but love for Jimmy”, but David Haye interrupted the exchange and said: “You’ve got a funny way of showing it.”
