Anne Hathaway looked ethereal as she stepped out at a special screening of her musical drama, Mother Mary, in London on Thursday night, dressed in a black naked-style illusion gown that showcased her svelte figure.
The 43-year-oldās gothic-inspired dress featured a sheer bodice with web-like material and fringe detailing for a sculptural effect. The voluminous sleeves billowed by her side, and the delicately pleated skirt brushed the floor.Ā
Anne opted for minimal jewelry on the night, a swipe of blood-red nail polish and a half-up, half-down hairstyle.Ā The Oscar winner has already earned rave reviews for her role in Mother Mary,Ā which follows Anne as a pop star on the eve of her comeback as she reunites with her estranged best friend.Ā
The film also stars Michaela Coel, Hunter Schafer, Kaia Gerber and Sian Clifford, and features original songs written by FKA Twigs, Jack Antonoff and Charli xcx.Ā Anne got candid about the grueling process of preparing for the role, which saw her transform into a Lady Gaga-esque pop star.Ā

Itās effortless power, which is not really my thing. Iām, like, all about effort. I was like, wow, I am so not a pop star.ā
She added that being a pop star was the antithesis of her life as an actress. āWhat I love to do is share what Iāve gone through, the secret parts of my soul, through a filter, through an avatar that I can privately, secretly relate to.ā
āBut I donāt have to ever talk about that, and I donāt ever have to reveal that. With a pop star, the image that youāre putting out is based on yourself. And so you are your own avatar,ā Anne explained.Ā

Anne is having a blockbuster year, what with the release of The Devil Wears Prada 2, Mother Mary, Verity, The OdysseyĀ andĀ The End of Oak StreetĀ all in 2026.Ā She appears to be everywhere all at once, a feat which she called āunsustainableā.

āI canāt see anybody asking me to maintain that pace when my kids are out of my house, which will be like late 50s, early 60s.
