Alix Earle took matters into her own hands for the 2026 Vanity Fair Oscar Party.
Earle, 25, took to TikTok on Sunday, March 15, to document her getting-ready process ahead of the party, which took place at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art.
“This might be a terrible idea, but I’m doing my own makeup,” she said with a bare face. “I’m slightly regretting this decision, but it’s too late now.”
Earle noted that she wasn’t doing her everyday glam for the red carpet and was instead “channeling her inner makeup artist.” First, she went in with Mary Phillips’ m.ph underpainting face palette and started brightening her undereye area.
“The reason why I’m doing my own makeup is that every makeup artist that I usually use is booked,” she explained, laughing while clarifying that she decided to do it herself instead of keep looking for more artists while “drunk in Vegas.”

Earle went on to share that she felt “anxious” about the carpet because she didn’t know many other people who were attending the event. She followed up with a Makeup by Mario palette and blended a brown shade into her crease. Next, she applied blush and concealer to her face before going in with eyeshadow and lip liner.
“I think I’m gonna try and do fake lashes, but I don’t know how to do that either,” she said. Earle carefully applied the falsies while a hairstylist curled her blonde hair.
“Here is the final glam!” she exclaimed. “In this lighting at least I like it. I feel like it turned out really good. Now, time to get dressed.”
Earle slipped into a red beaded Bob Mackie dress while hitting the red carpet. While doing press, she told Entertainment Tonight that she had already experienced a wardrobe malfunction.
“I just had to go ask someone for a knife because one of the beading things started coming undone,” she shared of her vintage look. After she tried to “pull” the thread, the beads started “flying off,” so she instead “sliced” the string to make it work.
