Pierce Brosnan is one of the most iconic incarnations of James Bond, with the actor’s portrayal helping to move the character into the modern world.

This modernity extended to his love interests, who became much more capable and self-assured. Instead of damsels in distress whose sole purpose was to longingly shout ‘James’, they evolved into competent women who could hold their own.

Polish star Izabella starred in GoldenEye

Polish actress and singer Izabella played Pierce’s first main love interest, computer technician Natalya. Natalya was vital to James’ mission, helping to trick fellow technician Boris Grischenko and throw off Alec Trevelyan’s evil plan.

Following the film’s release, Izabella, 55, appeared in a lead role in films like Reign of Fire, Exorcist: The Beginning and Sleepwalker. Her latest role was in 2023’s Barracuda Queens, where she played Margareta Millkvist.

A year after GoldenEye, Izabella married Polish ice hockey player Mariusz Czerkawski; however, they split two years later. In 2003, she married Jeffrey Raymond, but the pair’s union ended in 2015, and in 2019, she walked down the aisle with Karl Rosengren.

Serena had a smal role in GoldenEye

Serena played Pierce’s first Bond girl encounter, appearing as MI6 driving instructor Caroline. Although initially perturbed by the way Bond acted behind the wheel, when he produced bottles of champagne, she quickly melted into his arms.

Serena, 62, has since appeared in episodes of several major British shows, including the likes of Monarch of the Glen, Silent Witness, The Bill, Holby City and Midsomer Murders.

The Bond franchise was Michelle’s big break

Michelle Yeoh – Wai Lin

After starring in several Hong Kong-produced action films, Tomorrow Never Dies proved to be Michelle’s breakout role for Western audiences. Michelle starred as Chinese agent Wai Lin, who allies with James to stop media mogul Elliot Carver from starting World War III.

Since being in the film, Michelle, 63, has starred in the likes of Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon, Memoirs of a Geisha, The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor, Crazy Rich Asians, A Haunting in Venice, Wicked and The Brothers Sun. In 2023, she starred in Everything Everywhere All at Once, winning Best Actress at the Academy Awards.

Michelle has found love with motor racing executive Jean Todt, with the pair marrying in 2023.

Teri played the formidable Paris Carver

Teri Hatcher – Paris Carver

Teri played Bond’s former love interest, Paris, in the 1997 film, who is ultimately murdered on behalf of her jealous husband, the film’s villain Elliot Carver.

Teri’s largest role since starring in the film was as Susan Mayer in Desperate Housewives, a role that earned her a Golden Globe and three SAG Awards. The actress, 61, has also appeared in Spy Kids, Coraline, Smallville, Supergirl and WondLa.

Teri is the mother of one child, and in 2003, she split from her second husband, the actor Jon Tenney.

Cecilie had a fling with the secret agent in the film

Cecilie briefly appeared in Tomorrow Never Dies as a Danish professor who has a fling with Bond. The actress and model had a brief acting career, appearing in 54, House of Fools and Visions of Europe.

The star, 51, is also known for her long-term relationship with rock singer Bryan Adams, although the pair split in 2002 after dating for 12 years.

Denise memorably played Christmas Jones

Denise appeared in The World Is Not Enough as Bond girl Christmas Jones, who works as a nuclear physicist. Her knowledge and athletic prowess prove essential to Bond’s mission as he attempts to avert the destruction of Istanbul.

Denise, 55, later starred in the likes of Empire, Love Actually, Scary Movie 3, Dirty Hands, Blue Mountain State, Twisted and The Bold and the Beautiful. Between 2019 and 2026, she was part of the cast of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills.

In 2002, she married Charlie Sheen, and the pair welcomed two children together. However, the union ended in 2006, although the pair are now on better terms. Following her divorce, Denise adopted a young girl, and in 2018, she married Aaron Phypers. The couple split in 2025, and Denise secured a restraining order against her ex, alleging domestic abuse.

Serena’s character enjoyed a romance with Bond

Serena had a small role in The World Is Not Enough, playing Molly Warmflash, a doctor who Bond seduces in order to get a clean bill of health.

Since the film, Serena, 64, has starred in Code Hunter, Hostage, Brothel, Days of Our Lives and William & Kate: The Movie, where she played Carole Middleton.

The star has one child, and in 2024, she married Vincent J. Tortorich.

Halle mirrored an iconic scene

Halle Berry – Jinx

Pierce’s final Bond girl was CIA agent Jinx, who was played by Halle Berry. Jinx proved to be a no-nonsense agent, easily holding her own against Bond and the villains they faced in Die Another Day. The star’s introduction to the franchise was a recreation of Ursula Andress’ entrance, with the actress emerging from the sea in a bikini, albeit an orange one over a white one.

Like Michelle, Halle, 59, has had an incredible career, starring in the X-Men franchise as Storm, as well as appearing in Catwoman, New Year’s Eve, Cloud Atlas, Bruised and Crime 101. She also had a major role in the TV series Extant.

At the time of Die Another Day, Halle was married to R&B musician Eric Benet, but the couple split in 2005. Between 2013 and 2016, she was married to French actor Olivier Martinez, and she has also dated model Gabriel Aubry, with whom she shares a daughter with, and musician Van Hunt, who she’s currently engaged to.
