Zoe Saldaña nearly broke the internet because she had us all thinking she made a major change to her appearance.
On April 5, the Emilia Pérez actress, 46, attended the 2025 Breakthrough Prize Ceremony, where she turned heads in a dark brown Schiaparelli dress.
The design, which debuted in the house’s Fall/Winter 2025 collection, featured off-the-shoulder sleeves and a sheer overlay with a large rose motif, giving off the impression that Saldaña got a huge floral tattoo on her sternum. But nope, it was just the genius work of the label that made us do a double take.
Saldaña, who was outfitted by her longtime collaborator Petra Flannery, wore the figure-hugging dress with black ankle-strap heels. Her highlighted hair was styled in her signature waves and her glam kept to a glowy and bronzed complexion topped with a satin-finish lip.
Accompanying Saldaña as her date was her husband Marco Perego however she took some time to pose with Gwyneth Paltrow, who looked effortlessly glam in a strapless white gown by Donna Karan New York.
When it comes to fashion, the Avatar actress has quite the year already thanks to her parade of glam red carpet looks during awards season.
Styled in Saint Laurent for most, if not all, of her run, Saldaña experimented with silhouettes — from ruffled portrait necklines for the BAFTAs to column silhouettes for the SAG Awards — but stayed loyal to her favorite black dresses.
But for her big night at the Oscars, Saldaña became one with the carpet in an elegant number complete with a wine-colored multi-tiered skirt, a chainmail top and sheer opera gloves. Later in the night, she took home her first Academy Award for Best Female Actor in a Supporting Role.
In her speech, Saldaña shouted for her mom through tears and honored her team and family (including her man’s “beautiful hair”) in her speech.
“I am a proud child of immigrant parents with dreams and dignity and hardworking hands, and I am the first American of Dominican origin to accept an Academy Award and I know I will not be the last. I hope,” she added.
