Now that the clocks have gone forward and sunnier days appear to be on the way, it’s time to start thinking about our summer outfits. There are many standout seasonal events taking place soon, from Wimbledon and the Chelsea Flower Show to Royal Ascot.
Speaking of Royal Ascot, if you are heading to the famous racecourse this year, you may want to take style tips from the ever-beautiful Zara Tindall.
A regular attendee, the wife of Mike Tindall could write a book on how to look elegant at outdoor events, and as a fashion editor, one of my favourite looks she has worn is the Zimmermann ensemble she donned in 2019.
Keeping it fail-safe with flowers, Princess Anne’s daughter opted for this pretty midaxi dress by the Australian-founded label, which featured an eye-catching print bursting with blooms.
The ankle-grazing design was made from a linen poplin material and featured a body-skimming cut with a floor-length skirt and prominent shoulder pad detail, with smartly gathered cuffs. An elegant yet modern choice, this design was striking without being too vivid, and the timeless yet graphic floral print means she will be able to wear it in years to come.
Mother of three Zara teased her blonde mane back in a simple chignon and topped the style with a pale cornflower blue hat. She also added a pair of classic nude heels from royally-loved brand Gianvito Rossi.

Zimmermann was founded by sisters Nicky and Simone Zimmermann in 1991. Their namesake label is loved by the royal family and an abundance of A-list celebrities due to the high-quality fabrics they use and their love of feminine colours and floral accents.
Seeing women wear their designs is a huge part of their job satisfaction. “I always get a thrill from seeing a woman on the street taking a look of ours and adding their own twist to how it’s styled – I love that,” Nicky previously told our sister title, H! Fashion in 2024.
And when it comes to fashion trends, the designer has a refreshing ideology. “To be honest, I don’t worry about trends; I’ve always worn what I like. Maybe a few regrettable decisions in the 90s, but that’s evolution,” she noted.
