A traveler is opening up about a creepy text message she received from a stranger at the airport.
The woman, named Kirsten, explained the unsettling incident in a TikTok while she was waiting at the airport during her layover.
âIâm at the airport and the creepiest thing just happened to me,â she says as she appears to walk through the terminal. âIâm sitting there on my layover and I get this text.â
She then pulls up a screenshot of the message and reads it to her followers. Â
ââHi Kristen,â which, thatâs not even my name,â Kirsten begins. ââMy name is Nate. I saw you and thought you were so beautiful so I had to find a way to talk to you. I saw your number on your luggage tag and decided to text you. I promise this isnât as weird as it seems! Give a guy a chance?ââ
âGive a guy a chance?â she says. âFirst of all, he spelled my name wrong. Second of all, if he wanted to talk to me so badly, why didnât he come up and talk to me like a normal human being? This just feels like such an invasion of privacy. I have no idea who this guy is. I didnât notice a guy looking at me or anything,â she adds.
She also expresses her concern over the stranger having access to the other personal information she has on her luggage tag.Â
âIâm extra weirded out because I have my address on my luggage tag so he could potentially know where I live now,â Kirsten says.
She concludes with a warning for her followers: âPSA to everyone out there: Turn your luggage tag inside out so that your personal information isnât visible,â she says, adding, âAnd PSA to all creepers: do better.â
In the comments section, users were equally as shocked at the strangerâs unsettling actions.
âMy jaw literally dropped. Iâm horrified,â one person wrote.
Another added, âThis is something that would never even cross my mind!!! Thatâs so scary.â
Several commenters shared similar events that happened to them.
âI grew up in NJ where attendants pump gas for you and one time an attendant followed me on IG bc he got my name on my debit card that I paid with,â one commenter wrote.Â
Another claimed an airline employee contacted them using information they got while checking them into their flight.

âLuggage tags with covers only,â one user advised. Another added, âThis came to mind randomly during my last trip so my luggage tag says, âinfo on back.ââ
A few also said they only have their email addresses on their luggage tags in case it can be used for its actual purpose: reuniting them with a lost bag.
