A woman is at odds with her future sister-in-law after she made a request about her own attire for the woman’s upcoming wedding — where she will serve as the photographer for free.

In a post on Reddit’s “Am I the A——” forum, the woman, Olivia, 27, wrote that she “volunteered” to be her future in-law Samantha’s wedding photographer “completely free of charge” because she “wanted to help with the stress.”

Further detailing that she “also designed her invitations, table numbers, wedding website, playlists and bridal shower games” because she likes “being creative,” Olivia said that Samantha, also 27, has become “more demanding” with each ask, explaining, “Some mornings, I’d wake up to 20+ texts full of requests.”

But, one request that stood out among the others, Olivia explained, was that Samantha “insists I wear a floor-length gown and heels while photographing the wedding.”

“I’m not in the wedding party. I won’t even be in pictures — because I’M TAKING THEM. Long fabric + heels + running around a venue? I’ll be tripping all day. I asked months ago to wear something more practical, and she completely shut it down,” Olivia continued.

Olivia further explained in the Reddit post that there has been “family drama,” but she “assured Samantha I’d remain civil.” Still, Olivia said that Samantha “has been complaining about me, saying, ‘I don’t know what’s going on with the wedding because Olivia hasn’t responded!’ and blaming me for her not hanging out with everyone.”

“She’s also mocked my husband and me for our faith, jealous that other siblings are closer to us because we attend the same church,” she continued.

A week before the wedding, however, Olivia wrote, “I finally put my foot down,” and she told Samantha “she should assign a bridesmaid to coordinate the day of, because I can’t be both photographer and coordinator” and “I need to wear pants and comfy shoes to do my job but would change into a dress after major events.”

Samantha’s response to Olivia, she explained, was less than ideal, though, as the bride-to-be told her: “I thought we agreed to keep things civil? Did I do something offensive? I’m trying to keep this wedding less stressful as much as I can.”

As Olivia concluded that she feels “completely taken advantage of,” many in the comments section agreed with her sentiment.

“You’ve put in a lot of work for this wedding, and it‘s unfortunate that she’s unappreciative,” one user wrote, as another said, “You’re basically an unpaid worker. You’re not a slave. Just quit and walk away.”

Others, meanwhile, questioned Olivia for continuing to aid her soon-to-be sister-in-law, despite her treating her unfairly.

“She is demanding, but you seem very … overly involved,” wrote one Reddior. Said another, “You set zero boundaries and it sounds like you went along with it. So, you really set yourself up for this by not being clear and firm.”

“You definitely went overboard agreeing to her requests so far and it kinda makes sense that after saying yes a thousand times you’re going to come across as a little bit suddenly hostile if you say no out of nowhere,” added one other.
