Winnie Cooper Turns 50! Danica McKellar Celebrates Milestone Birthday with Makeup-Free Selfie

The ‘Wonder Years’ alum, who turned 50 on Friday, Jan. 3, shared a makeup-free selfie on Instagram alongside a heartfelt message. In the photo, McKellar appears fresh-faced while laying on a pillow and smiling at the camera. Keeping with the laid back vibe, she wears a simple gray t-shirt with her brunette locks swept up behind her.

“Woke up feeling so blessed on this next trip around the sun. 🎂” she writes in the caption. “So grateful to God for healthy family & friends, for a career I love, and for all of you!! 🤗 Let’s goooooo!”

McKellar also included the hashtags #nofilter, #nomakeup and #ThisIs50.

Fans are flooding the actress’ comments with well wishes and commending her choice to go makeup-free.

“Happy birthday! You still look young & beautiful! 🥳🎊🎈🎁🎉🎂,” one user wrote.

Another shared, “You are amazingly wonderfully marvelous and don’t need make up at all 🙏💟💪 happiest birthday to you.”

Posting “obligatory” makeup-free selfies has become a ritual for the star each year as she honors her age and bucks conventional beauty standards with her raw and relatable messaging.

In November, McKellar celebrated her 10th wedding anniversary with with husband Scott Sveslosky. To celebrate the occasion, the actress shared a sweet tribute on Instagram.

“Exactly 10 years ago, we said, ‘I do!’ 💍,” she began the caption of her post.

“November 15, 2014, just before 6:30am, we held a small, sunrise ceremony on a secluded beach in Kauai – only 20 people, including us. ❤️,” the Hallmark star continued.

She also shared that she still remembers “the golden glow” on Sveslosky’s face when she walked down the aisle, before adding, “Ten years has flown by, and I feel like the luckiest woman on the planet! Happy 10 year anniversary, my love!

McKellar and Sveslosky, who is a lawyer, wed roughly a year after their first date. After being set up by mutual friends, the couple had met for coffee in October 2013 and ended up spending the entire day together.

McKellar shares a 14-year-old son, Draco, with her ex-husband, composer Mike Verta.

In June 2013, the actress opened up to PEOPLE about how becoming a mom changed her life. “You tap into this love that you didn’t even know was possible,” she said. “I thought I knew what love was, but it’s crazy. … I love Draco with everything that I am — there’s no question about it.”
