Wild conspiracy theory drags Anna Kendrick into Blake Lively, Justin Baldoni legal drama

Anna Kendrick has now been dragged into the legal drama between Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni thanks to conspiracy theorists who have been vocalizing their wild assumptions online.

Netizens have presented unfounded claims that Kendrick is siding with Baldoni in the messy “It Ends With Us” feud.

The theory gained traction after the “Pitch Perfect” actress presented the best director award at the 2025 BAFTA Awards earlier this month.

“We all have huge respect for directors. It’s one of the most exhilarating and exhausting jobs in the world, Kendrick told the audience at the star-studded event on Feb. 16.

“It’s juggling a million decisions, answering endless questions and somehow still making sure that the story shines through.”

While Baldoni was not one of the directors nominated in the category, fans theorized that Kendrick was referencing him, as he directed the movie he co-starred in with Lively.

“A dig at Blake Lively and I’m here for it,” one person wrote in the comments section of a TikTok video of Kendrick’s speech.

“I love u Anna K, that smirk won’t let Blake sleep for days,” a second person wrote.

“‘We all have huge respect for directors’ — with a little smirk — directed at you Blake,” a third netizen said.

“The shade is shading,” someone chimed in, with another adding, “Take notes BLAKE!”

“Anna Kendrick’s ’Not Like Us’ moment,” claimed another, referring to Kendrick Lamar’s popular diss track about Drake.

Others, however, argued that the internet trolls were “reaching” with the idea that the actress was at all referring to the “Gossip Girl” alum’s drama with Baldoni.

“People reaching with the Blake situation it’s really annoying,” one person said.

“She’s not shading Blake, although that’s a funny coincidence,” a social media user wrote, adding, “Anna’s presenting because she had her directing debut this year with ‘Woman of the Hour.’”

Kendrick, 39, and Lively, 37, worked together on the 2018 thriller “A Simple Favor,” and reunited for the sequel, which will be released in March.

Meanwhile, Baldoni, 41, and Lively have been beefing after several disagreements unfolded on the set of their 2024 movie.

Last December, Lively sued Baldoni for sexual harassment and accused him of waging a smear campaign against her after filming wrapped. The New York Times broke the news, writing a lengthy piece about her accusations.

Baldoni denied her claims and fired back by suing the New York Times for libel. He subsequently filed a $400 million lawsuit against Lively and her husband, Ryan Reynolds, for defamation and extortion.

The “Jane the Virgin” alum accused Lively of bullying him into letting her take over his director responsibilities for their film.

The movie, which is based off Colleen Hoover’s 2016 novel of the same name, premiered in theaters last August.

Prior to the film’s debut, rumors swirled that Baldoni and Lively, who played onscreen love interests, were fighting over the final cut of the movie.

Justin and Lively’s trial is scheduled to begin in March 2026.
