The stranded NASA astronauts are feeling festive this Christmas, despite being thousands of miles away from earth.
Sunita âSuniâ Williamsâwho has been stranded in space alongside partner Barry âButchâ Wilmore since Juneârecently got into the holiday spirit with some fellow space explorers aboard the International Space Station.
âAnother day, another sleigh,â NASA captioned a new Instagram snapshot of Williams and American astronaut Don Pettit flashing smiles while wearing red Santa hats. âDon Pettit and Suni Williams, Expedition 72 flight engineer and commander, pose for a fun holiday season portrait while speaking on a ham radio inside the International Space Stationâs Columbus laboratory module.â
Though the space travelers seem to be filled with cheer in the Dec. 16 pic, the holly jolly photo raised one major question among those following Williams and Wilmoreâs journey home: How were they able to get their hands on Christmas clothes after being in orbit for over half a year?
As one user commented, âWhere did the Santa hats come from if theyâve been stuck up there for months and only planned a short trip? Seems an odd unnecessary to have on handâŠâ
