Jax Taylor is feeling the nerves when it comes to making amends with Beau Clark nearly three years after missing his wedding to Stassi Schroeder.

The Valley star, 45, admitted on the premiere episode of his new podcast In The Mind of a Man that his efforts to get Clark, 44, and Schroeder, 36, to join the cast of the hit Bravo series have yet to work.

“There’s one couple that I really wish would have been on [The Valley] and I just tried and tried and tried and I just can’t get them on. It’s Stassi and Beau,” he told guest Alex Baskin, who is an executive producer of The Valley. “I wish I could weather that freaking storm.”

“I tried to reach out and I understand they’re upset with me [over] this wedding situation that I’ve caused,” he added, referring to how he and then-wife Brittany Cartwright missed the couple’s May 2022 nuptials.

On the podcast, Taylor detailed the reasons why the pair didn’t make it for the couple’s big day. He explained they weren’t able to get a passport for their son, Cruz, in time for the trip to Rome, in addition to grieving the death of a close friend.

“It just wasn’t in the cards… and then breaking down the price and everything,” he said. “We can’t make this work.”

Despite the logistics not working out, Taylor admitted that he should have handled the situation differently with both Clark and Schroeder, who he dated on and off during the first two seasons of Vanderpump Rules.

“Before I got to tell Beau, his friend Rob told him. And unfortunately, it didn’t come out of my mouth so I don’t know how it was worded. Beau just got really upset and Stassi got really upset,” he recalled. “We have apologized. We sent them money. It just was really unfortunate how it all turned out. Was it my fault? Yeah, it was.”

“We probably should have gotten the passport sooner. It’s just the way life is. It just wasn’t meant to be,” he added.

When asked if he’s been in touch since missing the wedding, he responded, “I’ve reached out multiple times. I’ve run into Stassi a few times and she’s always like, ‘Hey, I’m so happy for you with the bar.’ She’s always very kind to me. I know she talks to Brittany.”

However, mending his relationship with Beau is proving to be more difficult as he explained, “We have a couple of mutual friends. And every time I see them I’m like, ‘Hey, can you tell Beau to call me and tell him I miss him? Tell Beau I want him to come to my bar because he would love my bar.’ And he is my friend.”

When Baskin suggested that Taylor contact Clark directly, Taylor responded, “I should. I’m just nervous and I’m scared a little bit because I just don’t think he wants to see me. It just sucks. And we’re getting older so I’m not scared to say, ‘Hey, I miss the guy.’ So it just sucks.”

Cartwright, 36, echoed her ex’s comments about the wedding during an appearance on the Betches Moms in 2022, saying, “We had actual reasons why we couldn’t go that were not talked about. Like, Cruz’s passport didn’t come in, my mom had a death in the family and had to go home.”

She denied they cancelled at “the last minute,” sharing, “That was not the case. It was that I was literally trying to be there, up until the very last minute.”

As for Schroeder, she detailed where she stood with the former couple after the fallout more than a year after the wedding.

“I do miss them at times. They hurt me — they really did. It feels like I can’t trust them anymore,” she said on a June 2023 episode of The Toast podcast. “I am over it but it doesn’t mean I have to go be besties with these people again.”

Schroeder admitted that she was upset by how they handled the situation.

“I gave them the opportunity to back out and they didn’t. Then as I was getting on the plane, I got a text from Brittany. That feels way more hurtful,” she said. “I think that was a huge part of why it hurt even more. I had to cut family members and so many people I would have loved to have there. So, they took up two spaces.”
