After two years of marriage, Sia’s relationship with CEO Daniel Bernad has come to an end.
The Reasonable Woman singer filed for divorce in March 2025 citing the 18th as the date of separation and “irreconcilable differences” as the cause. Sia and Bernad’s documents also revealed that they had welcomed their first child together, Somersault Wonder Bernad, 11 months earlier.
It’s unclear when Sia started dating Bernad, who is the CEO of a Los Angeles integrative medicine practice, but the Grammy-nominated musician went public with their relationship in 2021. The couple tied the knot two years later in a small ceremony in Portofino, Italy, and welcomed their child in March 2024.
Prior to her relationship with Bernad, the Australian singer-songwriter was married to filmmaker Erik Anders Lang from 2014 to 2016. Three years later, she adopted two teen boys.
So, who is Sia’s estranged husband? Here’s everything to know about Daniel Bernad and his former relationship with the singer.
He’s the CEO of an integrative medicine practice
According to his LinkedIn, Bernad is the CEO and co-founder of an integrative medicine practice called Modern Medicine Services. Based in L.A., the practice focuses on holistic healing through acupuncture, sound therapy and ketamine-assisted treatments.
In a 2024 Instagram post introducing the practice’s team, Bernad was also listed as a radiation oncologist who is “passionate about healthcare innovation, bridging gaps in patient care, and advancing integrative medicine.”
Prior to his role at Modern Medicine, he attended the University of Cambridge, the University of Oxford and McGill University, per his LinkedIn.
She went public with their relationship in 2021
Despite telling GQ in 2020 that she had decided to be single for the rest of her life, Sia quietly started dating Bernad after her divorce from Lang.
They posed hand-in-hand wearing matching face masks at the L.A. premiere of West Side Story in December 2021, and the singer shared a photo of them together on her Instagram the following year.
“Pride forever!” the singer captioned two photos, including one with Bernad. “#lgbtqia+ #LAFC #22👀❤️ also just finished my next album! A great day all round!”
They married in 2023
In May 2023, a few months after the couple had legally married, Sia and Bernad tied the knot during an intimate ceremony in Portofino, Italy.
Only four guests attended the nuptials — which were held at Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana’s Villa Olivetta, where Kourtney Kardashian and Travis Barker exchanged vows a year prior.
The singer wore a lacy mermaid gown with a matching sheer veil, and Bernad donned a light-colored tuxedo and bowtie.
They share one child together
Sia and Bernad quietly welcomed their first child together, Somersault Wonder Bernad, on March 27, 2024.
The singer — who told InStyle in 2020 that she wanted to be a mom her “whole entire life” and underwent in vitro fertilization treatments with Lang — also has two teenage sons she adopted after watching the 2016 documentary Foster.
“I watched a documentary and saw my son,” Sia told Vogue Australia in 2020. “I was like: ‘What? Like, he doesn’t have anybody. Oh my God. I’m going to find him and I’m going to be his mummy.’ And so that’s what I did.”
When she tracked the boy down, he asked her if his “cousin Che” could come with him. Sia said yes and felt that Che was “meant to be” her son, too.
She filed for divorce in 2025
In March 2025, Sia filed for divorce from Bernad after two years of marriage. According to court documents, the singer separated from her husband on March 18, and cited “irreconcilable differences.”
The documents also revealed that Sia had requested legal and physical custody of their child Somersault and was open to granting visitation rights to Bernad. She also asked the court not to grant her estranged husband spousal support.
Reps for Sia did not respond to PEOPLE’s request for comment at the time.
