Finding Her Edge hit Netflix just ahead of the 2026 Winter Olympics.
The eight-episode series, based on the book of the same name by Jennifer Iacopelli, follows teenage ice skater Adriana (Madelyn Keys) who returns to the competitive circuit with new partner Brayden Elliot (Cale Ambrozic) after a brief break from the sport. While navigating her new place in the ice skating world, Adriana is faced with competing against her ex-boyfriend and former skating partner, Freddie (Olly Atkins).
Just like all the good TV shows about a teenage love story (a la The Summer I Turned Pretty) there is a love triangle involved.
“I don’t kiss and tell,” Keyes joked during a “The Wayne Ayers Podcast” appearance on Thursday, January 22, when asked about the onscreen love triangle. “I love that Adriana finds something she likes about both of them.”
The character “learns a lot about herself and what is right for her at that particular time” throughout the show, Keyes added. “Who knows what will happen in, maybe, next season.”

How Does ‘Finding Her Edge’ Season 1 End?
After making it into the ice staking World Championships, Adriana and Brayden compete against Freddie and Riley (Millie Davis). After the judges award two extremely close scores — 98.36 and 98.14 — Adriana and Brayden come out on top.
Who Does Adriana End Up With in ‘Finding Her Edge’?
Fake dating her skating partner, Brayden, all season long comes to a head with Adriana revealing the truth after her gold medal win. After nabbing her award, Adriana surprised viewers by kissing Freddie in the middle of the rink, revealing that her relationship and partnership with Brayden was fake.
“Obviously, I am Team Freddie, but I’m Team Brayden too. He put so much work into trying to make this relationship work, competitively and romantically,” Atkins told Collider about the ending. “And then, to see it fall through his fingers at the end of the show, it really broke my heart a little bit, as much as I was rooting for Freddie. There’s a lot to it.”
Will There Be a Finding Her Edge Season 2?
Netflix has yet to renew Finding Her Edge for a second season. However, there are hints at where the show is going. After Adriana’s success at the World Championships, she returns home where her father has sold their family skating rink to a professional skating organization.
All seems right in the world with Adriana and Freddie back together both romantically and as skating partners, but Brayden shows up at the new rink with his new partner, Riley.
“I’m really excited that, at least in that last scene, Riley doesn’t even say anything, but you can see it in her eyes. There is some tension between her and Adriana too,” Keys teased to Collider. “I think that is good, and that is what she deserves, as a character. I hope that Adriana gets to learn a couple more lessons about how to be in a friendship.”
Is the ‘Finding Her Edge’ Show Different From the Book?
Both the book and TV adaptation end the same, with Adriana choosing Freddie. However, author Iacopelli explained the subtle differences she was able to make by taking the story to the big screen.
“There’s one particular change that I actually really love, and it’s something I couldn’t do in the book. When we first meet Adriana in the show, she’s not skating,” she told The Mirror. “If I had taken the time to write a journey about whether or not she was going to skate again, that’s 70 pages. They were able to do it in one episode of TV.”
Iacopelli added, “It creates an experience where the audience is there with this character making a decision about how her life is going to play out, and it was just not something I would have had time to do.”
