For over 30 years, the Home Alone movies have become a holiday staple that combines the heartwarming mood of the season with hilarious slapstick moments to make it the ultimate holiday classic.

The film focuses on young Kevin McCallister (Macaulay Culkin) — who’s accidentally left home alone over the holidays — and his clever plans to outwit a pair of criminals trying to rob his home on Christmas Eve.

Whether you find yourself eating Kraft mac and cheese on Christmas Eve or have trouble carrying holiday groceries, Home Alone offers something for everyone. But what can astrology tell you about which iconic character you’re most like?

Earth signs may relate to Kevin’s resourcefulness and meticulous planning when setting his traps while Air signs will feel closely aligned with E.F. Duncan, the eccentric owner of Duncan’s Toy Chest in Home Alone 2: Lost in New York.

Read on to learn which Home Alone character you are, based on your zodiac sign according to astrologer Valerie Mesa.

Aries: Kate McCallister

Kate’s assertive and fearless energy closely aligns with Aries’ fiery persona. Mesa says Kate harnesses this energy the moment she realizes that Kevin was left behind and makes her decisions “quickly and efficiently.”

“She displays the Aries tendency to act first and think later when she attempts to catch a flight back to her son,” Mesa adds.

Taurus: Uncle Frank

Uncle Frank’s “stubbornness, materialism and indulgence” shines through the most throughout the films, which is closely aligned with Taurus’ energy. Mesa says that Uncle Frank is “focused on convenience and comfort, like when he comments about the hotel in Miami not looking like it did on his honeymoon” in the second movie.

Gemini: Mr. Hector

Mr. Hector exudes Gemini’s “savvy, sly and quick-witted” nature as he investigates Kevin when he arrives at the Plaza Hotel. Mesa says since “Gemini is ruled by Mercury, the planet of the mind — this includes all forms of communication, logistics and paperwork — something Mr. Hector has mastered overseeing things at a prestigious hotel in the Big Apple.”

Cancer: Heather McCallister

Heather’s “nurturing Cancer traits” are most prevalent when she worries about Kevin when he’s left behind. Mesa explains that she is “protective of him and cares deeply about family” and “is visibly upset and anxious” when the family realizes Kevin is missing.

Leo: Buzz McCallister

Buzz’s confident and sometimes boastful attitude aligns closely with “Leo’s archetypes,” Mesa says. “He often brags about what he knows and persistently picks on Kevin,” adding that his “dominant personality is also Leo-like, especially the way he claims to be in charge of the house.”

Virgo: Kevin McCallister

Clever and resourceful Kevin closely aligns with Virgo’s energy. Mesa says that these “Virgo traits are evident in his attention to detail and problem-solving skills, especially when desperate times call for desperate measures. He’s meticulous in setting up elaborate traps for the burglars and practical when he’s at home alone, even venturing to the grocery store to buy a toothbrush.”

She adds that like his character, Culkin is also a Virgo, making it easier to embody Kevin’s key traits that make him successful against the bone-headed robbers Harry and Marv.

Libra: Peter McCallister

As head of the McCallister household, Peter is “harmony-seeking and diplomatic” like Libras and the “peacemaker in the family.” Mesa says throughout the movies “he is the calm, reasonable parent who reassures Kate when things start going awry.”

Scorpio: Harry Lyme

“Harry’s intense determination to rob the McCallisters’ house makes him the quintessential Scorpio,” Mesa says. “His ability to plot and scheme — like showing up to the McCallister house disguised as a cop and his plan to trick Kevin later in the movie — shows Scorpio’s strategic, sometimes sadistic side.”

Sagittarius: Marv Murchin

Marv’s “overly optimistic approach and risk-taking nature” perfectly aligns with Sagittarius’ energy. Mesa explains that “he and Harry continue their mission with a can-do attitude, despite their failures.”

“His ‘brilliant ideas’ — though often misguided — reflect the adventurous, carefree spirit of this Fire sign,” Mesa adds.

Capricorn: “Old Man” Marley

Serious and reserved, “Old Man” Marley is initially misunderstood because of his silent, stern nature — considered to be very Saturnian, according to Mesa.

“Once Kevin gets to know him, however, he realizes Marley is a hardworking, family-oriented man,” she continues. “Marley also feels responsible for reconciling with his son, which reflects Capricorn’s traditional and dutiful nature.”

Aquarius: E.F. Duncan

“E.F. Duncan’s eccentric and humanitarian nature resembles Aquarius’ desire for progress,” Mesa says. “His unique toy store — Duncan’s Toy Chest in New York — caters to a wide variety of customers, offering toys you wouldn’t normally find elsewhere.” Mesa adds that he has “a bit of an unconventional approach to business, such as supporting Kevin when he needs it.”

Pisces: “Pigeon Lady”

The Pigeon Lady’s “compassionate, sensitive nature” perfectly aligns with Pisces’ overall character. Mesa says “she’s deeply empathetic toward Kevin, and her emotional connection with him is clear when she comforts him and tells him her own sad story.”

Mesa adds that “her dreamy, otherworldly qualities are also shown through her bond with the pigeons and her understanding of Kevin’s loneliness.”
