What Scottie Scheffler Is Serving at His 2025 Masters Champions Dinner Tonight and the Secret Meaning Behind One Appetizer

The top golfers are putting down their clubs and pulling up a chair ahead of Masters Tournament.

On Tuesday, April 8, past winners of the renowned golf tournament will gather for the Champions Dinner at Augusta National Golf Club in Georgia. Part of the annual tradition requires last year’s winner to handpick the menu, which is 2024 champion Scottie Scheffler this year.

Scheffler, 28, is a two-time Masters winner having won in 2022 and 2024. His 2025 Champions Dinner menu is mostly similar to the one he chose to eat with fellow green jacket holders (a blazer given to winners) in 2023.

Tonight, golfers will be served “Scottie Style” cheeseburger sliders, firecracker shrimp and Papa Scheff’s meatball and ravioli bites.

The meatballs are a nostalgic choice for Scheffler, he explained during a press conference in March. “My dad’s meatballs made the menu. I think there’s a meatball and ravioli type of dish that was always my favorite thing growing up. My dad, his best meal was always meatballs,” the athlete said.

The ravioli pairing has another possible meaning, too. In December 2024, Scheffler withdrew from the PGA Tour’s season-opener after sustaining an injury while making Christmas dinner. He punctured the palm of his hand while making ravioli and needed surgery to repair the damage, according to AP News.

Most of the other dishes are inspired by his childhood in Texas.

The first course is Texas-style chili and the main course is either cowboy ribeye or blackened redfish. The main course comes with family-style macaroni and cheese, creamed corn, glazed Brussels sprouts and roasted sweet potatoes.

The meal will conclude with a chocolate chip skillet cookie.

Most of this year’s Tex-Mex menu items were served in 2023 including the sliders, shrimp, steak, redfish, macaroni and cheese, creamed corn and cookie skillet.

There are, however, some twists to returning items. The Brussels sprouts are soy-glazed this year instead of the 2023 fried preparation and the dessert comes with vanilla ice cream rather than the previous milk and cookies-flavored ice cream.

Other year’s Champions Dinners have featured tapas, sushi and English roasts. The meals tend to pay homage to the winner’s home country or state.
