Jessie J is revealing the sweet conversation she had with fellow cancer survivor Kate Middleton.
During her guest appearance on âGood Morning Americaâ Friday, the âDominoâ singer shared new details about bonding with the Princess of Wales in London last month.
âI know youâve gone through a tough time,â the royal told Jessie J, to which she responded, âI know you have too.â
The British songstress (real name: Jessica Ellen Cornish) added, âAnd I said, âI just want to let you know, mom to mom, cancer survivor to cancer survivor, I see you and I feel you. Can I give you a hug?â And she said, âOf course you can.ââ
The âPrice Tagâ hitmaker told âGMAâ that she was âgratefulâ the princess received her message âin the way it was meant.â
Jessie J revealed that she had been diagnosed with early breast cancer in June, while Middleton announced in March 2024 that she was undergoing treatment for an unspecified form of cancer.
The two were spotted embracing at the Royal Variety Performance in London on Nov. 19 after both going through extensive recoveries.
Jessie J has been sharing details of her health journey with fans online, calling herself an âopen bookâ regarding her experience. She told âGMAâ that cancer has given her âdeep perspectiveâ on life.
âWhen I got diagnosed with breast cancer, I wasnât scared; I felt a little bit out of control,â she explained. âBut Iâm a sharer, and I wasnât going to sit at home and cry about it ⊠Iâm really riding that wave and living in the moment and enjoying life.â
Of her initial discovery of the disease, the singer noted that advocating for herself was invaluable.
âI felt a lump and I said, âOh, that doesnât feel right.â I went and got it looked at, got an ultrasound and they were like, âEverything looks fine,ââ she said, noting that she just knew something was still wrong.
âI said, âBut I got this achy arm, and I feel like I kept waking up [on] pins and needles.ââ
âWe need to talk about these things. Iâve been very lucky,â she added. âSuper lucky to find it so early. It wasnât invasive, thank God. I know there is a chance it could come back, but until then, weâre living life.â
