As the Official Hamburger of March Madness, Wendy’s is rolling out the red carpet for basketball and burger fans alike.
In a statement released on Monday, March 17, the fast food chain announced it will be selling its Jr. Bacon Cheeseburgers and Double Stack cheeseburgers for $1, from now through Sunday, April 13. Along with an additional purchase, this offer can only be redeemed exclusively in the Wendy’s app.
Both sandwiches deliver classic tastes and flavors that go perfectly with the tournament. The Wendy’s Jr. Bacon Cheeseburger comes with a signature square beef patty, crispy Applewood smoked bacon, lettuce, tomato, American cheese and mayo. The Double Stack is another excellent option with two fresh beef patties topped with American cheese, ketchup, mustard, pickle, and onion.
“This year we’re expecting to see some of the freshest talent in the game give their all for a shot at a National Championship,” said Ian Eagle, lead play-by-play announcer for the NCAA Division I Men’s Basketball Championship. “But if you want my call, Wendy’s is the freshest hamburger in the game – their burgers are made just for you.”
Wendy’s also offers a few app-exclusive deals that food delivery service users will certainly appreciate.
DashPass subscribers can receive a free Son of Baconator on orders of over $20. Uber Eats customers can watch the game with a BOGO Double Stack Biggie Bag, which includes a sandwich or burger, chicken nuggets, fries, and a drink, in hand. And GrubHub users can snag a free Baconator with any purchase over $20.
The new offer comes days after Wendy’s latest rollout of deals and collaborations. In honor of National Girl Scout Day on March 12, the chain released a Frosty inspired by the tastes of a Girl Scout Thin Mints Cookie. And for St. Patrick’s Day on March 17, customers were able to snag a free order of French fries with any purchase over $5.
Although both of these offers were limited-time treats, Wendy’s did announce that their latest innovations, the Frosty Swirls and Frosty Fusions, were becoming permanent items on the menu. Customers will soon be able to add their choice of sauce and additional mix-in toppings with either classic chocolate or vanilla Frosty.
