Lydia Plath is engaged!
The Welcome to Plathville star, 20, said “yes” to fiancé Zac Wyse in a surprise proposal over the weekend, the couple exclusively confirms to PEOPLE. Describing the emotional occasion, Lydia says, “The moment we were in each other’s arms we were overwhelmed with all the emotions that led us to this moment where all we could feel was pure joy for the commitment we were about to make.”
The pair cited the Bible verse Ephesians 2:10 as they celebrated the big life milestone.
The engagement comes after Lydia — who appears on the TLC reality series alongside her parents, Kim and Barry Plath, and siblings — debuted her relationship with Wyse on Instagram last month. Alongside a series of photos of the pair posing together against a scenic mountain backdrop, she expressed her gratitude that she found and connected with her then-boyfriend.
“Words can’t describe how grateful I am the Lord has brought you into my life! ❤️,” she wrote in the caption of the Nov. 21 post.
“You never cease to amaze me with the adventures we go on, supporting me in every high and low, and overflowing every moment with joy as we pursue the Lord together,” she continued, adding, “My love @zaclwyse 🤍.”

Wyse shared several of the photos on his own Instagram page along with a heartfelt message for Lydia.
“Life is full of adventures but I can’t help but want to spend the rest of them with you! So grateful for what the Lord has given me 🤍. Psalms 31:30,” he wrote.
Prior to officially introducing Wyse to her followers, Lydia teased their relationship in an Instagram post on Oct. 3 — which happened to be National Boyfriend Day — by sharing a close-up of the couple’s hands.
“Happy national boyfriend day! 🤍,” she wrote in the caption. “You’re a blessing from the Lord and have brought so much joy to my life! I can’t wait to see what the future holds!”
Welcome to Plathville, which first premiered in 2019 and recently aired its sixth season, documents the Plath family’s everyday life, including their Christian Fundamentalist faith. Lydia is Kim and Barry’s fifth child.
The former couple — who announced their decision to divorce in 2022 after 24 years of marriage — also share Ethan, Hosanna, Micah, Moriah, Isaac, Amber, Cassia and Mercy. Their 10th child, son Joshua, tragically died in 2008 at 17 months old after a farming accident on the family’s property.
