Victoria Beckham appears emotional at Paris Fashion Week show as family make low-key show of support

The Beckham family put on a united front on Friday March 6, as they arrived in the French capital in order to support matriarch Victoria Beckham. Victoria was hosting her annual Paris Fashion Week show, marking her first show since her eldest son Brooklyn Beckham launched a broadside at his family, including the highlighting of “performative social media posts”.

However, things were markedly different this year, with none of the usual fanfare the family usually enjoy, which often includes a big departure from their hotels and arrivals at the show. Victoria also usually ends her shows by gesturing to her family, and giving husband David a kiss, however on this occasion she simply waved to the crowds before departing.

Members of the family were seen arriving ahead of the show, with David wearing a black suit, while Romeo looked stylish in cargo pants and a leather jacket.

Cruz captured attention in a swanky purple and orange crochet cardigan, while Harper wore a dramatic black cape gown. Cruz was joined by girlfriend Jackie Apostel, who looked gorgeous in a mint green dress for the occasion.

Birthday posts

The family defied Brooklyn’s wishes by marking his 27th birthday with a series of public Instagram posts as Brooklyn marked his 27th birthday. Although Brooklyn has snubbed his family’s birthdays in recent months, they all shared messages marking his special day, with parents David and Victoria even affectionately using his nickname, Buster.

In a tribute, David, 50, shared two throwback photos, one of which showed David and Victoria holding baby Brooklyn in a pool on holiday, while the second snap is a black-and-white photo of the father-of-four with young Brooklyn.

Victoria shared the same poolside snap of Brooklyn, and wrote: “Happy 27th birthday Brooklyn. I love you so much.”

Likewise, Brooklyn’s younger brothers, Romeo and Cruz, shared their own social media tributes to their older sibling. Cruz’s message featured a snap of the two brothers together as young children, and he captioned the post: “I love you.”

Family feud

While tensions have been simmering below the surface for months, with Brooklyn skipping family events and birthdays, things took a major turn in January when the star shared a statement against his family, hitting out over “controlled narratives” and “inauthentic relationships”.

In the statement, the star expressed his desire never to reconcile with his family. In one part of his statement, he claimed: “My family values public promotion and endorsements above all else. Brand Beckham comes first.

2022

April 9th – Brooklyn Beckham marries Nicola Peltz. Reports emerge of a dispute, as Nicola chose not to wear a dress designed by Victoria Beckham. However, in an interview with Grazia USA, Nicola said this was because Victoria’s ”alterier” couldn’t make the dress, not due to a feud. 

June –  During their honeymoon, Brooklyn and Nicola do not meet up with the Beckhams, despite being on holiday nearby at the same time. 

August – Nicola appears on the cover of Tatler, where she discusses the pressure Brooklyn feels around his career, and reveals that he often seeks advice from her billionaire father. 

October –  In an interview with the Sunday Times, when Nicola was questioned about the alleged feud with Victoria she said: “No family is perfect.” 

2024

December – Romeo Beckham and his girlfriend, Kim Turbull, go public, and she begins spending time with the Beckham family. However, Brooklyn and Nicola are notably absent from any photos with Kim, who reportedly dated Brooklyn in the past, in the following months.  

2025 

March 30th – Brooklyn didn’t attend his dad’s early birthday party in Miami, which was organised by Victoria

April –  Romeo shuts down speculation that Kim was Brooklyn’s ex-girlfriend in a now-deleted Instagram comment: “Brooklyn and Kim never dated.” 

9th –  The Beckham family do not publicly acknowledge Brooklyn and Nicola’s third wedding anniversary. 

17th –  Brooklyn Beckham and Nicola Peltz miss Victoria Beckham’s 51st birthday party. Brooklyn does not post any birthday tribute to his mother on social media. 

May 2nd –  David Beckham celebrates his 50th birthday in London. However, Brooklyn and Nicola are notably absent and do not publicly acknowledge the occasion on social media.

5th – David shares an Instagram story from a fishing trip he planned six months earlier for his birthday, posing with his sons Cruz and Romeo. He captions the story: “You were missed @brooklynpeltzbeckham.” 

25th –  Brooklyn posts an Instagram story of himself and Nicola, appearing to take a dig at his parents, with the caption: “I always choose you.” 

August 2 – Nicola and Brooklyn renew their vows without any members of the Beckham family present at the ceremony.

October 8 – Nicola and Brooklyn do not attend the red carpet premiere of Victoria Beckham’s eponymous Netflix documentary.

December 21 – Cruz Beckham posts a screenshot to his Instagram story of a Daily Mail article claiming his parents unfollowed Brooklyn. He captions the story: ”NOT TRUE. My mum and dad would never unfollow their son…Let’s get the facts right. They woke up blocked… as did I.”

2026

January 19 – Brooklyn has broken his silence on the family feud rumours with a lengthy Instagram story. He shared his version of events with his 16 million followers and stated that he has no desire to reconcile with his parents.

“Family ‘love’ is decided by how much you post on social media, or how quickly you drop everything to show up and pose for a family photo opp, even if it’s at the expense of our professional obligations.

“We’ve gone out of our way for years to show up and support at every fashion show, every party, and every press activity to show ‘our perfect family’.”

However, one of the key parts of Brooklyn’s statement accused his family of disliking his wife, Nicola Peltz Beckham, claiming that Victoria pulled out of designing Nicola’s wedding dress at the last minute, before “hijacking” the couple’s first dance at their wedding.

“In front of our 500 wedding guests, Marc Anthony called me to the stage, where in the schedule was planned to be my romantic dance with my wife, but instead, my mum was waiting to dance with me,” he said. “She danced very inappropriately on me in front of everyone. I’ve never felt more uncomfortable or humiliated in my entire life.”

Brooklyn’s claims have been backed up by guests at the wedding, including DJ Fat Tony. Appearing on This Morning, he explained that Marc Anthony had asked for “the most beautiful woman in the room” to stand up before inviting Victoria over, prompting Nicola to leave the room in tears.
