Universal has climbed aboard this hot book property.

Power producer Elaine Goldsmith-Thomas — known for collaborating with Jennifer Lopez on movies like “Hustlers” — is teaming up with “Sex and the City” creator Darren Star to bring Goldsmith-Thomas’ debut novel to TV.

Universal Television snapped up rights to “Climbing in Heels” before it’s even published April 29 via St. Martin’s Press.

The duo will executive-produce and co-write the series together.

The juicy book follows the rise of five ambitious assistants in glitzy ’80s Hollywood, we hear.

Star — who also had a hand in “Beverly Hills, 90210” and “Emily in Paris” — called the new project in a statement an “addictive fictional account of Hollywood . . . through a female lens,” and, “a ballsy and bawdy love child of ‘Mad Men’ and ‘Sex and the City.’ ”

Goldsmith-Thomas was a top Hollywood agent — repping stars including Lopez, Julia Roberts, Madonna, Susan Sarandon, Tim Robbins, Spike Lee and Nicolas Cage — before she went on to produce films including “Maid in Manhattan,” “Mona Lisa Smile” and “Hustlers.”

She’s the president of Lopez’s Nuyorican Productions banner.

The debut author said in a statement: “I am thrilled to be partnering with Darren Star and Universal Television to bring life to these complicated, colorful women who refused to be sidelined or silenced.”
