Troye Sivan Channels Paparazzi Photos of Addison Rae Reading Britney Spears’ Memoir for His Halloween Costume

Addison Rae inspired Troye Sivan’s 2024 Halloween costume — simply by reading Britney Spears’ memoir.

Upon the release of Spears’ New York Times bestselling book The Woman in Me last year, Rae was photographed reading a hardcover copy while walking around Los Angeles. Sivan, 29, channeled her viral street style look head-to-toe for an Oct. 31 gathering with Rae herself, as well as Charli xcx, Rosalía and others.

Just like the “Diet Pepsi” singer, 24, in October 2023, Sivan sported brunette pigtail braids, a pink “Libra” t-shirt, black skirt, black flats and a pink bag — while holding The Woman in Me and appearing to read intently. According to his Instagram Stories, Rae lent him the actual outfit she wore for the photos.

Rae, who dressed as Dorothy from The Wizard of Oz, laughed and called the “Rush” singer’s costume “so funny” in a video shared to his Instagram on Nov. 1.

She also shared his look to her Instagram Stories on Nov. 1. “I love you @troyesivan,” wrote Rae. “I wish words could be stronger.”

In a follow-up post, the Thanksgiving star added of The Woman in Me, “By the way if you haven’t read this book yet please do.”

The two pop stars spent Halloween with Charli (as the character Komomo from the 2006 film Imprint) and Rosalía (as the band Magdalena Bay’s Imaginal Disk album cover) as well as other friends including comedian Benito Skinner and musician Leland.

At some point in the night, the group filmed a TikTok set to Rae’s latest single, “Aquamarine.” Charli, 32, posted the video and commented, “Troye be reading.”

The crew also stepped out to Kendall Jenner’s Halloween party, where the Kardashians star and sister Kylie dressed as Lizzie McGuire and Isabella Parigi from The Lizzie McGuire Movie. Other celebrities in attendance included Megan Fox, Machine Gun Kelly and Camila Cabello.

Rae and Sivan seem to have grown close. Last month, she surprised the crowd at his and Charli’s Sweat Tour stop at Madison Square Garden in New York City for the debut performance of her hit “Diet Pepsi” and a rendition of her “Von Dutch” remix with Charli.
