Travis Kelce explained why he and Taylor Swift continue to publicly support each other as they reach new heights in their careers.
âIâm enjoying all aspects of life. Me and Taylor are happy,â Kelce, 35, said of his relationship with Swift in a Wednesday, Jan. 15 appearance on The Stephen A. Smith Show before the Kansas City Chiefsâ playoff game against the Houston Texans on Jan. 18.
âI couldnât be happier to have that confidence and that comfort off the field and all the support I could ever ask for in the stadium,â Kelce continued.
Smith, 57, told the tight end that he ânever really listened to [Swiftâs] musicâ before going to her concert. Smith went twice and spent around $20,000 on tickets for his daughter and nine of her friends. âI said, âThis better be worth it.â And I gotta confess, it was so damn good.â
âShe had you singing along the second time? Ainât that something,â Kelce quipped before Smith said, âAnd dancing!â
Smith asked if being in a relationship with Swift, 35, has âadded to [Kelceâs] football talent.â
âWhere would you describe your mentality to be at this particular moment in time knowing how well everything is going for both [of you] personally and professionally?â
âI think personally, thatâs the beauty of being in a very strong relationship is that you get that support to be able to come in and focus on your craft, focus on being the best version of you,â Kelce said. âThatâs why I wanted to be at the concert, supporting her and being there for her, making sure she feels comfortable and supported in everything sheâs doing in life.âÂ
âI think Iâm as focused as Iâve ever been on my job and being the best player that I could possibly be week in and week out for this team,â Kelce said. âItâs because I donât have to worry about things off the field.â
While on The Pat McAfee Show on Monday, Jan. 13, Kelce was asked if Swift pulls inspiration from the relationship into her work.
âLetâs just say youâre hanging and out and having a little dinner and all of the sudden the creative juice sparks,â host Pat McAfee hypothesized, âand the absolute beast that youâre sitting with who is going to go down as maybe the most famous icon in the history of musicâŠare you a motivator every single time?â
âOh, yeah. You know it,â Kelce said, adding that heâll ânever chime inâ during Swiftâs creative process. âBut Iâm here to support it,â he said. âIâm here to see where it can go.â
