Travis Barker may have finally found âthe oneâ in his wife, Kourtney Kardashian, but the musician has been married twice before.
The Blink-182 drummer made a rare comment about his lesser-known first wife, Melissa Kennedy, in his Hulu documentary Travis Barker: Louder Than Fear, which dropped on August 13.
The former couple was married for less than a year before they divorced in 2002, a result of Travisâ demanding touring schedule.
âI was touring with Blink non-stop. It was tough, especially since I was married at the time,â he recalled. âI kind of realized that the relationship wasnât working out for either of us anymore.â
Travis said the final straw came when he and Melissa got into a âhuge blowoutâ because he wanted to focus on his then-blossoming music career.
âI went to back to L.A. soon after that,â he added, âand life just kept getting crazier and crazier.â
The drummer soon found love again with his second wife, Shanna Moakler, whom he married in 2004, but his work/life balance became too challenging to manage once again.
âBalancing home life and touring, our relationship was getting more and more challenging,â he recalled of his relationship with Shanna. âDivorce came soon after.â
Travis and Shanna divorced in 2008. During their marriage, he became a father to his stepdaughter Atiana de la Hoya, now 27, son Landon Baker, 22, and daughter Alabama Barker, 20.
Third time seems to be the charm for Travis, who has been married to Kourtney since 2022, after he finally made a move after years of friendship.
âAll my guy friends would be like, âMan, what are you waiting for?'â Travis recalled. âI would literally come home from the studio at 6 a.m. from working all night and wake up two hours later to work out with her, just because I wanted to see her.â
He added: âI always thought to myself, âIf this happens, itâs going to be bigger than we could ever imagine.â Just by looking into her eyes, I knew she was the one.â
Travis and Kourtney confirmed their relationship in February 2018 before he popped the question on October 16, 2021, on the beach at the Rosewood Miramar in Santa Barbara, California.
They had an unofficial wedding in Las Vegas on April 3, 2022, immediately after the Grammy Awards.
They then legally tied the knot on May 15 in Santa Barbara and then threw an extravagant wedding in Italy on May 22, 2022.
The bride and groom opted for an extravagant four-day celebration in Portofino, hosted and dressed by Dolce and Gabbana.Â
The guest list included celebrity pals Megan Fox and Machine Gun Kelly, Mark Hoppus and Skye Everly, Simon Huck and Phil Riportella, and Stephanie Shepherd.Â
Travis and Kourtney, who shares sons Reign, 11, Mason, 16, and daughter Penelope, 14, with ex Scott Disick, welcomed their son, Rocky 13, on November 1, 2023, at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles.Â
