Tom Cruise has one of the most extensive property portfolios you can imagine, with luxurious homes on both sides of the Atlantic. His home life has hit the headlines recently, as he was pictured leaving  his apartment in the coveted London neighbourhood of Knightsbridge amid safety concerns.

It is believed that he will be retreating to the US, where he also owns multiple homes. However, there are many properties that he has left behind over the years, including one with an incredibly unique feature.

In 2007, the A-lister bought a house in Beverly Hills for $30.5 million, per the Los Angeles Times, which he shared with his wife, Katie Holmes, until he sold it to financier Leon Black in 2016, five years after the couple separated, for $40 million.

Though some celebrities’ choice of a luxurious feature would be a spa-quality sauna, a high-tech gym or a recording studio, he had what was called a ‘snoratorium’ installed in their lavish home.

Around 2011, just before the announcement of the couple’s separation and divorce, it was reported that a spare bedroom in the property had been converted into a completely “sound-proofed, atmospherically controlled” area where one could fall asleep without any fear of being disturbed.

At the time the room was installed, representatives confirmed to the Daily Mail on behalf of Tom Cruise that the couple did not sleep in separate rooms.

Real reason Tom Cruise left ‘trendy’ home

In January, Tom Cruise quietly left his £35 million apartment in Knightsbridge that looked over Hyde Park to begin a new chapter on the other side of the Atlantic. He bought the flat in 2021, as he had already spent a lot of time in England and was a self-described ‘Anglophile’.

It is believed that a series of high-profile crimes in recent months is what has driven the Top Gun star away from his beloved home. The most recent one was a daylight robbery at a luxury Bucherer watch store near his home.

According to a source who spoke to the Daily Mail, this was a turning point for the actor, who had been a quiet presence in the area, well-known by the concierge staff at his apartment block and the staff at the nearby hotels and shops.
