TLC’s new reality series highlights life in a four-way relationship.

In a first look at PolyFamily, two couples display their dynamic as a “closed polyamorous quad” raising a family together. While Sean and Taya are married, as are Tyler and Alysia, the women also date each others’ husbands and live under the same roof.

“A closed quad is four people, us, we’re only dating within ourselves and married within ourselves,” Sean explains in the trailer, which was released on March 17. “We don’t have any outside partners.”

“Like everybody else, right?” Tyler quips.

Alysia then adds: “We never set out to live our lives like this, but we realized we could love more than one person and make our own rules as to what we want our family to look like.”

The four share several children — including two Tyler and Alysia had before meeting Sean and Taya, and two more since becoming a quad.

“We feel very fortunate to give the kids double the love,” Alysia says.

They also reveal that Taya is pregnant — but they don’t know who the father is.

“Since the guys switch rooms every night, we don’t know who the fathers of the younger boys are,” she shares before joking, “I can assure you, it is one of two people!”

But despite Tyler noting that “finding out could cause a lot of hurt” within the family, the preview teases the results of a DNA test.

Tension between the men appears to grow as the season progresses, with Sean labeling their relationship as purely circumstantial.

“We live together, we have mutual partners and we parent together,” Sean tells the cameras. “But if we weren’t in this situation, we probably wouldn’t be friends.”

He later confronts Tyler about their issues, but that seemingly makes things worse.

“This has always been a point of contention — your kids and then us,” Sean says. Tyler responds, “Dude, you don’t need to parent me. I don’t need that.”

“Maybe if I was parenting you this s— wouldn’t have happened,” Sean snaps back.

The animosity isn’t just among them, though, as Alysia explains that “when it comes to Taya and Tyler, it almost looks like they are more in love than him and I.”

“I can’t help but be jealous about that,” she admits before tearfully sharing her feelings with Sean. “I don’t feel like we’re the same people we were in the beginning.”

“Yeah, but do you want to work on it or not?” he asks her.

With everyone struggling to find stability within the group, Taya drops a bomb that could change everything.

“I have something to share,” she begins. “I feel like I have a connection with someone else.”

Shocked, Tyler grapples with the possibility of their family falling apart.

“The quad we have now is the most important thing to me, and I don’t wanna screw that up by not thinking things through,” he explains. “It’s complicated to bring someone else in. We’re not closed anymore at that point. We’re just not.”

“I don’t know where we go from here,” Alisya declares as the trailer comes to a dramatic end.
