Tiger Woods slapped with new citation for careless driving after DUI arrest

Tiger Woods has been hit with a citation for careless driving in Martin County, Florida, nearly one week after his DUI arrest.

The professional golfer, 50, was charged on Thursday with a non-criminal citation for careless driving resulting in a crash, which carries a fine of $163, according to documents viewed by Page Six.

He is not required to appear in court for the traffic violation.

A rep for Woods did not immediately respond to Page Six’s request for comment.

The ticket arrived shortly after police released body camera footage of Woods’ arrest after his wild rollover car crash.

In the clip, the athlete can be seen kneeling down in the grass while talking to police officers after he climbed out of his Land Rover that had fallen on its side following his crash.

“Looked down at my phone and then all the sudden, boom,” Woods told the responding officers.

A second video showed Woods being put through several sobriety tests — which he failed — before authorities decided to handcuff and arrest him.

In a press conference held after the accident, Martin County Sheriff John Budensiek told reporters that Woods “showed signs of impairment” and “refused a urinalysis test” following his crash.

He was charged with misdemeanor driving under the influence with property damage, as well as refusal to submit to a lawful test and was taken to the Martin County Jail. He was released from custody roughly eight hours later.

According to a police report obtained by Page Six, authorities claimed that the golfer was holding “two white pills” inside his “left side pant pocket” that were later “revealed to be hydrocodone.”

Woods initially insisted that he had not consumed any alcohol or illegal substances before the crash — and had blown “multiple zeroes” when tested on a breathalyzer, according to Budensiek.

However, the affidavit revealed that he confessed to taking “a few” prescription medications.

In his mugshot photo, which was released shortly after his arrest, the professional athlete posed with bloodshot eyes as he stared blankly at the camera.

Earlier this week, the Masters champion appeared in court where he pleaded not guilty in his latest DUI case.

Hours later, he released a statement on his legal woes and announced that he was stepping away from golf to “seek treatment.”

“I know and understand the seriousness of the situation I find myself in today,” he shared via X on Tuesday.

“I am stepping away for a period of time to seek treatment and focus on my health,” Woods continued.
“This is necessary in order for me to prioritize my well-being and work toward lasting recovery.”

Woods added that he was “committed” to taking the necessary time he needs so he can “return in a healthier, stronger, and more focused place, both personally and professionally.”
