As new video footage emerges of Tiger Woods DUI arrest in Jupiter Island on Friday, March 27, the golfer is heard making a special call to his girlfriend Vanessa Trump’s father-in-law, the president himself Donald Trump.

In the footage, Tiger can be seen talking to someone on the phone, during the arrest before telling police: “I was just talking with the President.”

Before ending the call, Tiger can be heard telling the person: “Thank you so much – all right, you got it, thank you, bye.”

“He tested negative for alcohol, as you know, and he is under a tremendous physical pressure from his various ailments
the back and the leg,” Trump added.

“He lives a life of pain. He has a lot of pain. He’s an amazing guy. He’s an amazing athlete. He does have pain. He doesn’t have an alcohol problem, but he does have pain.”

The golfer was granted permission by a Florida judge to leave the US following his car crash. The 50-year-old golf star was charged with a DUI and refusal to submit to a urine test following the crash, as police who attended the scene described his behavior as “lethargic” and showing “signs of impairment”.

He was found with two white pills in his pocket, which were later identified as hydrocodone, a strong painkiller and highly addictive opioid used to treat severe chronic pain.

According to court documents, Tiger’s attorney, Douglas Duncan, wrote that “based upon the defendant’s treating physician, the out of country treatment facility recommendation is based upon the defendant’s complex clinical presentation and the urgent need for a level of care that cannot safely or effectively be done within the United States, as his privacy has been repeatedly compromised”.

On March 31, Tiger took to X to speak out for the first time since the arrest, sharing: “I know and understand the seriousness of the situation I find myself in today. I am stepping away for a period of time to seek treatment and focus on my health.”

“This is necessary in order for me to prioritize my well-being and work toward lasting recovery,” he continued. “I’m committed to taking the time needed to return in a healthier, stronger, and more focused place, both personally and professionally. I appreciate your understanding and support, and ask for privacy for my family, loved ones and myself at this time.”

The PGA Tour then followed up with a statement that read: “Tiger Woods is a legend of our sport whose impact extends far beyond his achievements on the course. But above all else, Tiger is a person, and our focus is on his health and well‑being. Tiger continues to have our full support as he takes this important step.”

CEO Brian Rolapp shared in his own personal statement: “Tiger Woods is one of the most influential figures the sports world has ever known. Over the last year, I have come to deeply appreciate Tiger not only for his impact on the game, but for his friendship and the perspective he has shared with me as I joined the golf industry. My thoughts are with him and his family as he takes this step, for which he has my full respect and support.”
