Tiger Woods has been charged with suspicion of driving under the influence after he was involved in a rollover crash in Jupiter Island, Florida after “high speeds”.

Martin County’s Sheriff’s Office revealed during a conference that a driver of a truck hauling a trailer was attempting to pull into a driveway when he spotted a dark-colored Land Rover in his rearview mirror, driving at “high speeds.”

The accident happened on Friday March 27

“This is a small two-lane road and there was no shoulder for this gentleman to get off but as he tried [to pull in] the Land Rover overtook, swerved to avoid a collision, and clipped the backend of the pressure cleaner apparatus [on the trailer], and [the car] rolled on the driver’s door,” said Martin County Sheriff, John Budensiek.

Tiger crawled out of the Land Rover on the passenger door, according to Sheriff Budensiek, and “Mr Woods did [exhibit] signs of impairment”.

On the scene, investigators asked Mr Woods to complete several tests, including a breathalyzer for which he “blew triple zeros,” but “when it came time to ask for urine analysis, he refused”. Declining to take a urine test is a misdemeanor state violation.

He has also been charged with property damage, also a misdemeanor,  and will be held overnight.  There were no injuries involved in the collision.

This is the fourth car incident Tiger has been involved in.

In 2009 he ran over a fire hydrant and hit a tree early on the morning after Thanksgiving with his SUV. He was cited for careless driving and fined $164 by Florida police but the crash became the impetus for revelations that he had been cheating on his wife with multiple women.

In 2017, Florida police found him asleep behind the wheel of a car parked on the side of the road. He was arrested on a DUI charge, and alleged he had suffered from an unexpected reaction to prescription medicine. He pleaded guilty to reckless driving and checked into a clinic to get help.

In February 2021, Tiger crashed his car after driving 80mph, nearly twice the speed limit, in Rancho Palos Verdes, outside of Los Angeles, and was left with severe leg injiries that led to numerous surgeries

Investigators determined the crash was an accident and ruled out impairment.

It took him more than seven months to return to golfing as he required multiple surgeries. He later described rehabilitation as the toughest moment of his career. The crash left him wheelchair-bound before he was able to transition to crutches and then walking unaided.

Tiger Woods and Vanessa Trump are official!
Tiger has been dating Vanessa Trump since 2025

Tiger, who is dating Vanessa Trump, the ex-daughter-in-law of President Donald Trump, lives in Jupiter Island, located on the barrier island also known as Jupiter Island, in Martin County, Florida, along the state’s Treasure Coast, north of Palm Beach.

Tiger purchased his home in 2007 for $44.5 million. It was originally a 9,000-square-foot mansion, but Tiger built a brand new property on the land in 2010, with the new layout including a 12,000-square-foot main home, and a 14,000-square-foot multi-purpose building, which are connected by a glass-covered walkway.

The main residence has four-bedroom suites, including the master bedroom, a spacious living room, wine storage, and a dining room with a fireplace. It spans nearly nine acres and also includes a guesthouse, a garage, two private docks for large boats and yachts, and a 3.5-acre golf course that reportedly replicates different courses he has played around the world.
