The White Lotus is proving that the past will always come back to haunt you.

As the season 3 finale approaches, fans of the HBO series are beginning to get answers to their questions. Episode 7, which aired on March 31, saw a sequence of fateful events reveal who was behind the resort’s robbery, while Rick (Walton Goggins) finally faced his father’s killer and Saxon (Patrick Schwarzenegger) found himself unable to escape that regrettable night.

The episode began with Rick arriving at the home of the White Lotus owner Khum Jim under the guise that he and his friend (Sam Rockwell) were interested in casting his wife Sritala (Lek Patravadi) in a movie. Earlier this season, Rick revealed to his girlfriend Chelsea (Aimee Lou Wood) that the true reason he wanted to travel to Thailand was because Khum Jim had killed his father.

When the two men were finally alone, Rick asked Khum Jim about his life in Thailand.

“This is a great country, and back then, not much red tape,” Khum Jim explained. “You hit a roadblock, you had a lot of options.”

“And if somebody got in your way, made your life difficult?” Rick questioned, to which Khum Jim responded: “Lots of ways to take care of that. I’m more careful now. Got more to lose.”

Growing angrier, Rick noted that “the secret to life is knowing when to stop.” He then moved the gun from his jacket to his waistband.

“You know, I’ve always wanted to meet you,” he confessed to Khum Jim when the small talk was over. “The very first time I heard your name, I was 10 years old when my mother was dying. I have fantasized about this moment 1,000 times.”

When Khum Jim claimed to be confused, Rick exclaimed: “Gloria Hatchett. Name ring a bell?”

“It seems like you should remember. She had a husband,” he continued. “You had him killed over some land deal or some s—. You don’t f—— remember that? He was my father. He was a good man, and I never got to meet him, because you’re a f—— piece of s—.”

Once he pulled out the gun, Rick inched closer to Khum Jim. “You ruined my f—— life. You may not remember him, but you sure as f— are gonna remember me.”

But when it came time to pull the trigger, Rick couldn’t do it. Instead, he pushed Khum Jim over and ran out.

Meanwhile, Gaitok (Tayme Thapthimthong) and Mook (Lalisa Manobal) watched a Muay Thai fight — and across the room, he spotted Laurie (Carrie Coon) with the White Lotus’ wellness mentor Valentin and his friends.

Within seconds, Gaitok had a flashback, realizing those were the same men who had robbed the resort days prior. Later that night, Laurie went back with one of them, and she spotted the stolen jewelry in his room.

Amid the chaos, Saxon and his parents attended the party Chloe (Charlotte Le Bon) and her boyfriend Greg (Jon Gries) were hosting at their mountaintop mansion. Still reeling over the memories of having a threesome with Chloe and his brother Lochlan (Sam Nivola) earlier in the trip, Saxon was approached by Chloe with another shocking proposal.

“Gary wants you to stay,” Chloe told Saxon. “He was telling me that when he was a kid, his parents used to have loud sex, like, all the time, and they would leave their door open, and he would then stand outside their door and just watch his dad go to town with his mom. It would make Gary feel this mixture of disgust and jealousy, but at the same time, excitement, like his heart was racing.”

Speechless, Saxon wondered why Chloe was sharing this with him, which she soon revealed.

“When he got older and started dating, he would have these paranoid delusions that his girlfriend would be cheating on him with his best friend, and he’d obsess,” she explained. “One day, he realized he kind of hoped they were having sex behind his back so he could find them doing it, just like he’d find his parents doing it in the middle of the night. So it’s kind of like his worst nightmare was actually his erotic fantasy.”

She then asked if Saxon would “help” Gary, to which he quickly said “no.”

“Relax,” she pushed. “He wouldn’t even touch you. He just wants to creep up on us, and at some point, I’ll leave you, and I’ll go to Gary. And it would be like he’s winning his mother back from his father.”

Chelsea, who was sitting beside them, quipped: “A little boy’s dream.”

“Are you both insane?” Saxon declared. “I’m not that kind of guy.”

“Yeah you are,” Chelsea chimed in, causing Saxon to get up and walk away.
