The White Lotus theories and plot twists are all that anyone seems to be thinking about these days. But we’re thinking about the skincare — this one miracle serum, in particular.

Makeup artist Rebecca Hickey revealed to PEOPLE that she used the Mother Science Molecular Hero Serum on Aimee Lou Wood (Chelsea) and Natasha Rothwell (Belinda) while shooting the third season in Thailand.

“[When] we are shooting, I have 30 minutes with these women, so I need like a multitasker, but I also want to pamper them,” said Hickey. “So what I love about this is it is protecting their skin from environmental factors, but it’s also fading sun spots and their fine lines and wrinkles.”

Hickey was introduced to the Mother Science Molecular Hero Serum by another one of the show’s lead actresses and has since incorporated it into her own routine. It does a lot behind the scenes, like fading dark spots and attributes to a brighter, more radiant complexion that looks better with and without makeup. “The better that you take care of your skin, the less you need to cover, the less you need to conceal,” Hickey also pointed out.

The brand is the first of its kind to bottle up malassezin (the serum’s key ingredient), which works ten times harder than traditional vitamin C agents. It also works in conjunction with alpine rose extract and niacinamide to bring down redness, hydrate the skin, and more, per the brand.

“Anybody who wants just brighter, more even looking skin,” said Hickey about who should use the serum. “It works so fast to fade things that used to be cute like freckles that now are somehow expanding.”

Carrie Coon also revealed that the cast wasn’t allowed to get tan since the whole season is only one week long — even though they were filming in Thailand for months. So with a strong UV index in tow, the Molecular Hero Serum and a proper sunscreen (Hickey used Elta MD on the cast) can work wonders.

The brand also just sent me one to try, and I already like it. As opposed to other runny vitamin C serums I’ve tried, the Molecular Hero Serum has a thick consistency. Still, it spreads easily, and my skin also already seems a little brighter. Hickey, on the other hand, has been using it for over a year and has “never once had a reaction [or] a breakout,” while other vitamin C serums previously left her skin irritated.

Reviewers agree: “[It] works better than anything I’ve ever used for dark spots,” said one shopper. “I’ve had stubborn dark spots on my cheek for years. I’ve tried every product and even laser with little to no success.”

Another user in their 70s also shared that it’s helped with hyperpigmentation and makes their skin “super soft and has almost a blurring effect.”
