After three decades of marriage, The Real World alums Judd Winick and Pam Ling still remember the first time they laid eyes on each other.

To celebrate their 31st wedding anniversary, Judd, 55, shared footage of when he and his wife Pam, 56, met on the set of the MTV reality show.

“It was my 24th birthday. And it is exactly 31 years ago today that we started filming THE REAL WORLD SAN FRANCISCO,” Judd’s Instagram caption began.

His clip was grainy archival footage of the cast mates entering their shared home for the first time when the show aired in the summer of 1994.

After the video showed three people walking in with their luggage packed, “February 12, 1994” flashed across the screen.

“My life would change forever in so many ways. But the most important by far is that I met Pam Ling,” Judd’s caption continued. “She is my partner. My hero. And the smartest and bravest and most beautiful and best person I know.”

As Judd was shown exploring his new digs, he soon crossed paths with Pam, who was just arriving into the house. Though their initial meeting didn’t seem overly extraordinary, the pair would go on to spend their lives together.

Judd said Real World producers Jonathan Murray and the late Mary-Ellis Bunim had given the couple the footage of them meeting as a wedding gift.

“This is the exact moment Pam and I met. It was our first day—first hours —when we started filming. THE REAL WORLD,” he wrote, adding, “I LOVE YOU PAM!”

Since tying the knot in 2001, Judd now works as a cartoonist and Pam as a professor of medicine at the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF) where she conducts research on tobacco, media, and social marketing. They have also welcomed two children together.

For their 30th wedding anniversary, Judd also reflected on The Real World San Francisco allowing them to meet.

“Together, we have a home. Two children. And a nonstop adventure—which all started with what was supposed to be something silly and cool. Going on television,” he wrote in the caption to his Instagram carousel.

He ended the sweet tribute by writing, “I’m so grateful to have her in my life. She is funny and silly and supportive, and the most excellent person I know.”
