The Nanny star Fran Drescher makes head-turning appearance on the red carpet

Fran Drescher has never been one to blend into the background – and at the 32nd Annual SAG Actor Awards, she ensured all eyes were firmly on her.

The The Nanny star arrived at the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles in a theatrical, high-fashion ensemble that felt equal parts Old Hollywood and Broadway showstopper. Fran wore a strapless, black sequined column gown that hugged her frame.

The sleek silhouette was dramatically contrasted by a voluminous blush-pink feathered stole draped around her arms, adding texture, movement and unmistakable flair.

But it was the accessory that truly sealed the look: a towering black top hat perched perfectly atop her dark updo. With diamond earrings, a delicate pendant necklace and a black clutch in hand, the 68-year-old leaned fully into the drama. Her makeup featured a defined eye and soft pink lip, while her megawatt smile did the rest.

By her side was Marc Jacobson, her longtime friend, collaborator and former husband. The pair have remained close since their divorce in 1999. Marc looked dapper in a traditional black tailcoat with a crisp white bow tie and waistcoat, perfectly complementing Fran’s theatrical glamour.

Fran’s red carpet appearance comes as Marty Supreme is among the films generating awards buzz this season, with nominations including Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble. The film – a stylish, character-driven drama – has been praised for its sharp writing and layered performances. 

On the red carpet the star said she is willing to officiate the wedding of her Marty Supreme costar Timothée Chalamet and his girlfriend Kylie Jenner. “If they asked me to,” Fran told E!. “I do officiate gay weddings, so I certainly can branch out and officiate this if they wanted me to.”

Of course, Fran will forever be synonymous with Fran Fine, the fast-talking, fashion-loving nanny who became a ’90s television icon. The Nanny, which she co-created and starred in from 1993 to 1999, cemented her status as a comedy powerhouse and style trailblazer. 

In recent years, she has also served as president of SAG-AFTRA, becoming a prominent voice in the industry during pivotal labor negotiations.
