The NEST x White Lotus Cucumber and White Sage Candle combines the crisp, refreshing essence of cucumber with soothing white sage as well as hints of lavender to create a sense of calm and renew.

PEOPLE: What’s your favorite Nest candle to set the mood for date night?
LS: To be honest with you, the sexiest home fragrance in our portfolio is Rose Noir & Oud — the combination of feminine pale pink rose petals with the masculinity of the oud notes makes this fragrance highly intoxicating and alluring. That’s my date night fragrance, for sure. If you are looking for something more exotic and spicy, then I would reach for Moroccan Amber, a fragrance that combines the most sophisticated spices inspired by the gourmand flavors of India and Morocco.
PEOPLE: What’s your favorite NEST fine fragrance to wear for date night?
LS: My perfect date night is a romantic dinner followed by a jazz club downtown after midnight, sipping on a glass of fine bourbon — so I am going to wear something sultry and seductive like our infamous eau de parfum, Vanilla Bourbon. Trust me, it will do the trick!

PEOPLE: When mapping out scent profiles, from where do you pull information?
LS: NEST New York works exclusively with renowned master perfumers that have access to the finest ingredients around the globe. Using state-of-the-art technology, they are able to identify, isolate and extract only the most beautiful parts of a flower or a plant—that is why the ingredients are so extraordinary. I work closely with these highly talented perfumers to plan NEST’s portfolio so that each fragrance taps a different olfactive category and has its own personality that creates a unique mood.

PEOPLE: What’s a scent that holds nostalgia for you? Why?
LS: Last year we won a Fragrance Foundation Award (the Oscar of the fragrance industry) for our Lychee Rose Eau de Parfum. I was inspired to create this fragrance while attending my dear friend’s wedding on a lake in Italy. They exchanged vows under what looked like a million pale pink roses and after the ceremony we all enjoyed a glass of pink champagne infused with lychee liquor. We combined all those essences, and apparently, we did a great job!
PEOPLE: What’s a scent that instantly transports you to a tropical locale?
LS: Balinese Coconut is literally a tropical paradise in a bottle. The Perfume Oil and Body Mist are made with the essence of fresh coconuts accented with hints of the sun-drenched husk and the salty ocean air — this fragrance makes you feel like you’ve been swept away to the beaches of Bali.
