Some of Hollywood’s most prominent actors are receiving their well-deserved accolades this awards season — but the nominations list for SAG-AFTRA’s 2026 Actor Awards left some fan-favorites surprisingly snubbed.
The nominations for the 32nd annual awards show were announced on Wednesday, January 7, by Heated Rivalry’s Connor Storrie and Abbott Elementary star Janelle James. Previously titled the SAG Awards, the ceremony honors outstanding performances in film and television, voted on by the union’s members, making it the only televised awards show to exclusively honor actors.
While One Battle After Another and The Studio led the pack with the most nods this year, others, like Jay Kelly and Sentimental Value, ended up empty-handed. Another shocking snub was Wicked: For Good, which only scored one nomination for Ariana Grande.
For TV, none of the lead or supporting actors of The Bear were recognized. However, the whole cast did get a nod for Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Comedy Series.
This year’s biggest snubs come after 2025’s surprising nomination list, which failed to include standout performances like Angelina Jolie for Maria, Nicole Kidman for Babygirl and Cooper Koch for Monsters: The Lyle and Erik Menendez Story.

Cynthia Erivo
Erivo and Wicked: For Good were both snubbed at the 2026 awards show. The move is shocking given Wicked’s dominant performance last year as it earned countless nominations. This is not the only time Erivo was not nominated for Wicked: For Good, as she was also snubbed at the 2026 Critics Choice Awards. The actress was, however, nominated for a Golden Globe, but she will not attend the awards show due to scheduling conflict with a new project.
Jeremy Allen White
Jeremy Allen White was shockingly not on the nominations list for his leading role on The Bear, for which he’s earned several awards in the past. But he still has a chance as The Bear cast is up for Best Ensemble. The actor was also not nominated for his role as Bruce Springsteen in biopic Deliver Me From Nowhere, which previously had award buzz.
Adam Sandler
Adam Sandler has earned critical acclaim for his supporting role in Jay Kelly but the film walked away with zero nominations. Sandler was nominated for a Critics Choice Award for his performance but lost to Jacob Elordi for Frankenstein.
Stellan Skarsgard
Stellan Skarsgård has appeared on several award show nomination lists for his performance in Sentimental Value. His exclusion from SAG-AFTRA’s 2026 Actor Awards could be the most shocking snub.
Carrie Coon
Carrie Coon delivered a critically acclaimed performance on The White Lotus season 3. While she did not make the list for the SAG-AFTRA’s 2026 Actor Awards, her costars Parker Posey and Aimee Lou Wood scored nominations.
Adam Scott
Adam Scott was missing from the Lead Actor in a Drama category for his role on Severance, which he has been nominated for several times. However, his costar Britt Lower did score a nomination for Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Drama Series and the cast as a whole is up for Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Drama Series.
