Coachella 2025 fashion is in full swing!
Performers and guests alike are hitting Southern California once again for the annual music festival, which is taking place over two weekends: April 11 to 13, and April 18 to 20. Weekend one is already one for the record books, with headliner Lady Gaga taking her dramatic stage aesthetic to new heights with several jaw-dropping costume changes.
Other performers like Charli xcx, Benson Boone, Tyla and Blackpink’s Lisa and Jennie took the stage in their best desert-chic looks, from custom designer duds to Y2K-inspired style.
There was no shortage of shock value, with some Coachella looks being more polarizing than anything. From Julia Fox’s exposed butt to Troye Sivan’s climate-defying ensemble, here are the Coachella style moments that are most likely to make it to the group chat — for better or for worse.
Best Outfits the Whole Audience Could Spot: Benson Boone in Custom Dolce & Gabbana
Benson Boone’s backflips weren’t the only thing catching the audience’s attention. The 22-year-old singer took the Coachella stage in two custom looks by Dolce & Gabbana, one of which was decked out in Swarovski crystals.
His opening ensemble consisted of a custom cotton gabardine sleeveless jacket and wide leg trousers accented with gold buckle details and buttons. The star accessorized with a leather belt with a gold Devotion Heart buckle.
Boone then changed into a custom printed lurex long sleeve bodysuit with flared pants completely adorned with Swarovski crystals and a custom velvet regal cape with train trimmed in faux fur and bijoux jewelry. He added a leather belt with silver hardware.
Best Interpretation of the Cowgirl Aesthetic: Jennie’s Monochromatic Moment
Blackpink’s Jennie put her own spin on the Western trend in a crimson crocodile-embossed jacket and matching bra top from Georges Hobeika’s fall 2025 collection, which she teamed with matching mini shorts.
The singer added a pair of tan thigh-high boots, sunglasses and, of course, a cowgirl hat.
Worst Place to Worry About Applying SPF: Julia Fox’s Exposed Butt
Always one to turn heads, Julia Fox brought her best accessory to the desert: her butt. The actress appeared at the festival and a couple parties in a cream-colored corset and brown leather mini cape, leaving her backside exposed as she posed for pics.
Best Fashion Theatrics: Lady Gaga (of Course)
Lady Gaga returned to the Coachella stage in all her glory. Her nearly two-hour performance consisted of multiple costume changes, including a dramatic white gown with large feathers protruding from behind her head and a slinky black dress with a sheer lace veil.
Best Y2K Aesthetic: Queen Latifah and Tyla
The Y2K fashion resurgence is going strong. Queen Latifah joined Megan Thee Stallion on stage in a simple black outfit, but turned up the heat with a ’90s-inspired hairstyle and accessories. Tyla, meanwhile, opted for an itty-bitty vintage Dolce & Gabbana look from 2000.
“As soon as I saw the skirt, I fell in love,” the “Water” singer told Vogue. “The skirt is barely anything — and that’s just how I like it.”
Best Glow: Charli xcx
Charli xcx secured her Coachella glow by using Dermalogica skincare courtesy of makeup artist Yasmin Istanbouli. Her soft and smoky glam complemented her uncharacteristic soft-girl look of a dainty pink-and-white tank top and brown skirt.
Worst Dressed for the Desert Heat: Troye Sivan’s Long Sleeves and Jeans
Troye Sivan wasn’t sweating the 100 degree weather in the Coachella Valley. The singer and actor attended the festival in a long-sleeve T-shirt, baggy jeans and boots, which surely caused some discomfort in the intense desert heat. Contrast this look with that of Timothée Chalamet, who took in the festival in a sensible ensemble of loose clothing, a backpack, hat and sunglasses.
Most Snooze-Worthy Fashion: John Mayer and Post Malone
These looks might be consistent with their signature styles, but wouldn’t one expect a little more from John Mayer and Post Malone at Coachella? The annual event is not only star-studded but fashion-focused, however, these two each opted for a simple ensemble of jeans and a T-shirt.
Strongest Case for the Return of Cat Eye Liner: Clairo’s Stage Glam
Clairo performed in a partially sheer, patchwork-style ensemble, but the standout element was her soft-yet-glam makeup look featuring a dramatic flick of cat eye liner. Is the makeup trend poised to make a comeback in 2025?
Best Hairstyle: Becky G’s Slicked-Back Look
For her surprise performance at Coachella, Becky G topped off her flowing white two-piece ensemble with a sleek hairstyle by hairstylist, Glen “Coco” Oropeza. The stylist used the new Garnier Fructis Sleek & Stay to battle the desert heat.
Most Unique Bikini: Lola Young
It might not be the most practical for the beach, but Lola Young’s fur-covered bikini top and matching hat certainly made a splash on the Coachella stage. The singer performed her hit song “Messy” in a unique olive green ensemble, complete with low-waisted pants and wrist cuffs.
