For us beauty and style editors, awards season is the mid-winter pick-me-up we always long for.

The stretch of events, which kicks off with Golden Globes and culminates with Oscars, never fails to deliver on one glam look after another.

This season exceeded our expectations with makeup looks that compel us to DM pros for all details on these gorgeous looks.

This season, Cynthia Erivo’s wicked-cool manicures made us do a double take, Olivia Rodrigo’s cat eye inspired us to pick up liquid liner and Demi Moore’s effortless waves blanketed our inspo boards.

Read on for pros nailed these and more looks.

Best Grooming Game: Colman Domingo

Colman Domingo and his groomer Jamie Richmond are so close, the actor presented her with InStyle’s Imagemaker Award in 2024. Sometimes the pro uses makeup on her client to boost his natural radiance, but for the SAG Awards she went au natural with stunning results. The look “reflects the essence of who Colman is: beautiful, bold, and unapologetically himself,” Richmond said. She used Charlotte Tilbury skin care to cleanse his skin and boost moisture, which she locked in with the brand’s Airbrush Flawless Setting Spray. “Since it has aloe vera to keep skin smooth and supple, and Japanese green to keep skin hydrated, it keeps the skin looking radiant all night long — it’s like a skincare secret weapon,” she told PEOPLE.

(Hands Down the) Best Nails — Ever: Cynthia Erivo

Cynthia Erivo’s nail artist Mycah Dior has been working overtime this awards season. On every red carpet, the star has a fresh set of decked-out nails that pull together her look and nod to her Wicked character Elphaba. At the Grammys, Erivo shared her inches-long looks took approximately “five hours” to create. The look was perfected using five OPI shades, including the cobalt blue hue, Fiyero’s My Mani, from the brand’s Wicked collection.

Best Nod to Old Hollywood Glamour: Selena Gomez

Nearly every awards show, there seems to be an homage to the gorgeous looks of decades past. At the SAG Awards, Selena Gomez’s makeup artist Hung Vanngo put his spin on the timeless vibe with a beautiful red lip using two products from the star’s brand: Rare Beauty Kind Words Matte Lipliner and Matte Lipstick in Devoted. And she’s proof positive the duo has staying power: when she hit the stage to accept an award hours after the carpet, the formulas were still vibrant — and hadn’t budged.

Best Pinterest Inspo for Viral ‘Lazy Girl’ Hair: Demi Moore

We’re certain Demi Moore’s hair is full of secrets, but her pro Dimitris Giannetos revealed a few of them after the SAG Awards, where she made a convincing case for embracing the “lazy girl” hair trend. He used a volumizing mousse at her roots to build body and texture, then blow-dried her hair with a round brush to create lift and smooth all over. Two different curling irons — a 1-inch and a 1.5-inch — gave the pro uneven waves for a more natural feel. A texturizing spray and the his magic hands added the finishing touches for the tousled look. “Demi is far from lazy,” he assured, “but this trend perfectly balances the structure of her outfit.”

Best Red Carpet Hair Debut: Emma Stone

Emma Stone, a natural blonde, has gone from platinum to jet black during her career. So she’s mastered the art of debuting hair transformations. After months of buzz that the actress had cut off all her hair, Stone confirmed so much was true when she stepped on the Golden Globes carpet with a textured pixie styled by her longtime pro Mara Roszak. For her “sculpted” look, the hairstylist used just one pea-size drop of her latest creation, RƌZ Evergreen Style Cream.
