The final week before hometowns saw Grant Ellis travel to Scotland to continue looking for a wife.
āI have huge decisions to make this week,ā Grant, 31, said in the Feb. 24 episode of The Bachelor. āItās going to be difficult.ā
Host Jesse Palmer revealed at the beginning of the episode that Grant wouldnāt be giving out any date roses in Edinburgh, but there would be two one-on-ones and one group date for the remaining seven women.
FIRST ONE-ON-ONE
Juliana scored the first one-on-one, which saw her and Grant travel by helicopter to a castle. Ā When they arrived, their royal valet Calum informed the couple theyād be treated to aĀ āregal experience.ā That began with stylist Vixy Rae helping Juliana, 28, and Grant pick out outfits. The day trader tried on a kilt before selecting a traditional suit; Juliana opted for a pink gown.
From there, they went to a Bridgerton-style ball. āI just feel like literally a princess,ā Juliana said in an on-camera interview.
Over dinner, Juliana opened up to Grant about someone āreally close to meā having āa problem with addiction.ā
āFor a while in my life, I was alone,ā Juliana told Grant. āI didnāt know how to cope with like, negativity and emotions of like, anger and confusion.ā
Juliana thought it affected her demeanor today. āI come off so happy all the time because Iām really afraid of the darkness that I saw and Iām afraid of going back there,ā the client service associate said.
Grant then shared his experience with his dadās addiction. āThat always makes me touchy talking about my pops, because, yeah itās like, even as much as heās hurt me, Iām still there for him,ā Grant said to Juliana.
The reality star then showed Juliana his lone wolf tattoo, which he explained he got ābecause Iāve handled things alone a lot of my life, too.ā
āItās rare that two people meet and have very similarly stories,ā Grant told the cameras. āI was trying to let her know that Iām in it all the way with her because our connection is so special.ā
Juliana felt the connection, too. āIt feels like I could be falling in love with you,ā she said to Grant.
Grant thought Juliana could be his future wife. āSheās exactly what Iām looking for,ā he said in an on-camera interview.
GROUP DATE
Alexe, Carolina, Dina, Sarafeina and Zoe went on the group date, but Carolina wanted nothing to do with it. She sat by herself while Grant and the rest of the women partook in Scottish games, and when Grant noticed, he went over to check in with the public relations producer, 28.
āItās been hard,ā Carolina said to Grant. āI donāt want to keep talking about it.ā
Carolina started crying and Grant asked her why she hadnāt been enjoying her experience on the show.
āI feel like you have stronger connections and itās hard for me to be here feeling like itās so obvious that itās not going to be me,ā Carolina said.
Grant told Carolina she was āone of my strongest connections, but then things started happeningā that āput a damperā on their relationship.
āIām so tired of going in circles,ā Carolina said.
Grant explained that, because of his past with his dad, he wanted a partner he could rely on. āI want to haveĀ a relationship in my life where I trust my partner and theyāre able to trust me through every circumstance,ā the former basketball pro said, urging Carolina to move forward.
It started to rain, so then Grant, Carolina and the rest of the women headed inside, and the rest of the group didnāt like that Carolina monopolized a lot of The Bachelorās time.
āWe saw that one girl got more attention, someone whoās already gotten a lot of attention, so itās just like, really tough for me to see all of that and just continue to question like, where youāre at,ā Zoe, 27, said to Grant at the afterparty.
Zoe lamented being the only remaining woman not to have received a one-on-one date with Grant. āI do feel bad that you havenāt had one on one time yet, but I will say, all it takes is one conversation,ā he reassured the tech engineer and model.
Zoe felt good about that, but some of the other women did not like Carolinaās approach. Dina, 31, told Carolina she ācomes off ungratefulā for not wanting to go on group dates.
āYou donāt care about anybody elseās feelings but your own,ā Dina continued.
Carolina didnāt want to preserve her castmatesā feelings. āI guess Iām crazy evil,ā she said before leaving to talk to Grant.
To the cameras, Carolina added, āI donāt feel bad about anything.ā
Dina wanted to use her time with Grant to warn him about Carolina. āThere are people here for you and there are other people here who are just thinking about themselves and are not necessarily willing to take accountability for the things that they do,ā she said to Grant.
Grant knew what Dina meant. āI really wanted to see the best in her and then towards the end of the week Iām like, oh I see why everyone has to say what they have to say,ā the attorney continued. āAnd here I am the next week and Iāve seen things that Iāve needed to see. And it just takes time sometimes.ā
Grant admitted that Dinaās perspective āsurprisedā him.
āIāve had too many women talk about Carolina and at some point Iām questioning, is it her?ā Grant wondered to the cameras.
SECOND ONE-ON-ONE
Grant ended his week in Scotland by exploring Edinburgh with Litia. They tried some whiskey, Grant attempted to play the bagpipes and then he and Litia, 31, stopped to chat with two women knitting.
āYou see wedding bells in the future?ā one of the knitters asked.
Grant replied, āYeah, I definitely think that sheās somebody who I could see as my wife and, you know, spending every day with and being happy.ā
From there, the knitter showed Grant and Litia a Celtic marriage tradition of tying the knot, in which a couple wraps a ribbon or cloth around their hands and ties it into a knot.
āWe tied the knot!ā Grant declared afterwards.
āMe and Grant tied the knot today so everyone can pack it up,ā Litia told the cameras. āThanks for playing.ā
Later, Grant and Litia sat down at a banquet table for dinner and the venture capitalist informed him that sheās a Mormon and never dated outside of her religion.
āIt completely shaped the kind of family that I want to raise my kids in,ā Litia said to Grant. āAnd I want God to be a part of my marriage.ā
Grant explained that he didnāt think religion had to have āa bunch of rules,ā but he called God āa cornerstoneā of his life. Grant also shared that he wants his family to eat dinner together every night because he would often eat alone.
āWhen I was alone, I would just talk to God,ā the Bachelorette alum said as he started crying.
Grant and Litia ended the night dancing to a private Emile SandƩ performance.
ROSE CEREMONY
Just before Grant could hand out roses, Carolina pulled Dina to talk.
āI still donāt really understand where our friendship went south,ā Carolina said to Dina.
Dina explained to Carolina that āitās hard to talk to you sometimes in groups.ā
āEven if Iāve meant well, Iāve messed up and Iām not perfect and Iām never gonna be,ā Carolina said. āBut Iām here to listen and I just want us to be good.ā
āMe too,ā Dina concurred.
They apologized and exchanged āI love yousā before returning to the rose ceremony. At the ceremony, Grant gave out roses to Dina, Juliana, Litia and Zoe, meaning Alexe, Carolina and Sarafiena would not be proceeding to hometowns.
