Awards season is coming to a close, but not without some memorable style moments to look back on.
The 2025 Oscars, hosted by Conan OâBrien at the Dolby Theatre on March 2, will conclude what has been a buzzy circuit filled with jaw-dropping beauty looks, showstopping ensembles and one unexpected engagement announcement (weâre looking at you, Zendaya).
Throughout it all, thereâs been a class of nominated stars whoâve shown up and shown out time and time again, with some livening up the dress code with top-tier method dressing and others committing to their signature uniform.
Before all the action kicks off at Hollywoodâs biggest night, weâre looking back at the eight red carpet power players who made getting glam their whole personalities in the name of showbiz.
Demi Moore and Her Red Carpet Renaissance
When Demi Moore embarked on the Substance press tour last fall, we knew sheâd be a big style hitter come awards season. She and Brad Goreski, whoâs known the actress for almost 20 years, continued their high-fashion streak in custom, couture and more.
At the Golden Globes, Moore, 62, turned heads in a bespoke Giorgio Armani PrivĂ© gilded mermaid gown that was designed to deliver âfull wattage glamour.â It was the perfect look for the actress to take home her first statuette in (Moore triumphed in the best actress in a comedy or musical film category).
Moore later attended the Critics Choice Awards in Schiaparelli (the lace-up back of which was a subtle nod to her film), the Directors Guild Awards in 2018 Dior Haute Couture, the BAFTAs in a custom Alexander McQueen made in a monthâs time (per Goreski), and the SAG Awards in custom Bottega Veneta.
Timothée Chalamet and His Never-Ending Dedications to Bob Dylan
TimothĂ©e Chalamet has been on our radars for his youthful taste in menswear for years. However, weâve been keeping an even closer eye on his outfit choices so no Bob Dylan reference went unnoticed.
Since promoting A Complete Unknown, the biopic that recently earned Chalamet, 29, the title of youngest best actor SAG Award recipient, heâs been proving himself to be a masterful method dresser in a series of red carpet looks styled in reference to the legendary musician.
Although no look has been as extreme as his blonde wig for the movieâs N.Y.C. premiere, Chalamet has still paid homage to the movie in subtle ways, and itâs all down to his stylist Taylor McNeill (note: Chalamet was styled by Haider Ackermann for the Globes).
At the SAG Awards, Chalamet revived a neon rocker look Dylan wore on a rare public appearance with a custom Chrome Hearts suit, while channeling a 1987 Dylan outfit in Bottega Veneta at the BAFTAs. He most recently celebrated his second Best Actor Oscar nomination in a custom GAPStudio satin co-ord in reference to the brand and Dylanâs relevance in the 1960s.
Zoe Saldaña and Her Commitment to the LBD
Instead of taking method dressing to a new extreme, Zoe Saldaña â who received multiple nods and wins for Emilia PĂ©rez â played around with various forms of her favorite uniform: the LBD (in this case, the long black dress).
Case in point: Saldaña, styled by Petra Flannery, dazzled at the Golden Globes in a plunging Saint Laurent all-brown sequin gown that looked black. For the SAG Awards, she wore another full-length dress, but this time it was a one-sleeve Saint Laurent velvet number complete with a bedazzled ruffled.
Saldaña hasnât entirely been opposed to pulling off the unexpected. For the Critics Choice Awards, she wore a waist-cinching red Saint Laurent gown with a Cartier choker.
In a 2023 interview with Harperâs Bazaar, the actress said looking good on the carpet is as important as feeling good in her outfit. âThe older I get, comfort has become quite a fashionable statement in my life and I think itâs good to feel safe and comfortable in what youâre wearing.â
Ariana Grande and Her Glorified Glinda Glam
Ariana Grande has been another popular awards season fixture, and itâs because of her Glinda-fied wardrobe curated by Mimi Cuttrell.
The duo continued to pay homage to Wicked right after Grandeâs run on the âJourney Through Ozâ press tour, and while some nods were more subtle than others, the Good Witch and Oz have still been very much present.
Grande (figuratively) floated into the Santa Barbara Film Festival in a bulbous Louis Vuitton gown that referenced Glindaâs famous bubble, while her 1966 Givenchy gown for the Globes acted as an Easter egg for the Yellow Brick Road.
Although she attended the Critics Choice Awards in a nude-colored Dior Haute Couture cage dress, Grande continued to think pink in a poufy Louis Vuitton confection and floral appliqué-covered Loewe gown for the BAFTAs and SAG Awards respectively.
Cynthia Erivo and Her Wickedly Spectacular Outfits
Cynthia Erivo is one of the boldest trendsetters of our time â and we donât state that lightly (if you need proof, just scroll through all the impeccably themed ensembles she delivered on the Wicked press tour).
There is nary a red carpet event the singer and actress, 38, hasnât attended this awards season (how sheâs doing it all has to be some form of sartorial sorcery, right?), and her efforts have not gone without recognition.
Every look she and her stylist, Jason Bolden, have collaborated on has embodied the definition of jaw-dropping, whether it be her structural Louis Vuitton gown for the Globes, her fringed-covered 1997 Givenchy dress for the SAG Awards or her tailored Dolce & Gabbana pinstripe suit for the NAACP Image Awards.
Selena Gomez and Her Nods to Old Hollywood
Selena Gomez may be one of todayâs style icons, but her sartorial references all point to vintage glamour. Throughout awards season, the actress â recognized for Emilia PĂ©rez and Only Murders in the Building â channeled Old Hollywood elegance through her outfits, makeup and hairstyles.
Outfitted by Erin Walsh, Gomez, 32, reinvented her red carpet style in everything from her custom Cinderella-blue Prada gown for the Globes to her embellished Schiaparelli ensemble for the BAFTAs.
She also pulled off a Katherine Hepburn move in a white Ralph Lauren tuxedo complete with a tailored blazer with shoulder pads, a vest layered over a sheer collared shirt and wide-leg trousers.
Mikey Madison and Her Strapless Streak
Thanks to the success of Anora, Mikey Madison was everywhere this awards season with an assist from Jamie Mizrahi, who also outfits Jennifer Lawrence, Jeremy Allen White and, as of late, Jack Nicholson.
There wasnât a strapless gown the 25-year-old star couldnât pull off. For the Globes, she dazzled in a very gilded and very scaly custom Bottega Veneta design that caught the light from every direction. At the BAFTAs, she went for a muted no-strap cream Prada moment before returning to metallics in a silver shoulder-less Louis Vuitton gown with a statement ruffle. She continued the streak at the SAG Awards in a vintage Fall 1987 Bill Blass bow-adorned find from Shrimpton Couture.
The exception to Madisonâs unspoken no-sleeve rule was the ethereal cherry red Proenza Schouler gown she wore to the Santa Barbara Film Festival.
Colman Domingo and His Sexy Menswear
Colman Domingo has been letting his style sing this awards season in a multitude of sexy and playful menswear looks.
The actor â whoâs been a red carpet regular with his nominations for Sing Sing â has been working with styling duo Wayman and Micah on a dynamic lineup of looks he describes as âeffortlessly luxuriousâ but also comfortable.
âI want to look like Iâm having a good time and also want to look like Iâm festive in some way,â Domingo said in an exclusive interview PEOPLE ahead of the Oscars. âIâm not only at the party, but I am the party.â
Itâs hard to pick a favorite out of Domingoâs sartorial lineup, but if we had to choose, itâd be the multi-patterned Valentino accessories he wore to the Globes, the incredibly sexy Versace moment (which involved a sexy unbuttoned shirt) he rocked at the BAFTAs or his sharp Valentino suiting from the SAG Awards.
