Taylor Swift is breaking records outside of music.
The 14-time Grammy winner’s Eras Tour Book sold 814,000 copies in its first weekend, the Associated Press reported on Wednesday, Dec. 4, citing Circana. It’s now the top-selling book of the week, and the most successful publishing launch of the year, per the outlet.
Taylor Swift | The Eras Tour Book features over 500 photos and anecdotes from her record-breaking 20-month tour that spanned five continents.
The 256-page book is only sold at Target for $39.99 and was released on Black Friday, Nov. 29. Circana’s reporting is through Saturday, Nov. 30, per Variety.
Swift’s first-week success is only bested by Barack Obama’s A Promised Land, which was released in 2020 and sold 816,000 copies in its first week, according to the AP. Though Swift’s book is exclusively available at Target, Obama’s presidential memoir was sold at other outlets. His first-week sales also included more days than Swift’s.
Swift announced the book of her historic tour during a Good Morning America segment on Oct. 15.
“Here is the official retrospective of the most wondrous tour of my life, my beloved Eras Tour,” the “Fortnight” singer, 34, said at the time, per a release. “Thank you to the fans who came to this show. You were what made The Eras Tour what it became.”

Inside the front cover of the book, Swift penned a special note to her fans where she reflected on her journey.
“I’ll never forget the call when I explained my idea of the concept for The Eras Tour to my team,” she wrote, adding that the feat caused her to “be more disciplined and committed to my health, fitness and stamina” than ever.
After saluting her “incredible crew, band, singers and dancers who all matched my dedication to the massive scale and challenges of this show,” Swift turned her attention to her fans who attended the sold-out shows.
“We do it because life comes in waves, in phases, in brilliant flurries of magical moments, and all of these things come together to create… Eras,” she wrote. “Here is the official retrospective of the most wondrous tour of my life, my beloved Eras Tour.”
