Despite an impressive six nominations at the 2025 Grammy Awards, Taylor Swift left empty-handed.
The pop star, 35, didnât win any trophies during the Sunday, February 2, ceremony at Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles.
Ahead of Sundayâs ceremony, Swift lost Best Music Video to Kendrick Lamarâs âNot Like Us,â later losing Best Pop Vocal Album to Eras Tour opener Sabrina Carpenter. When Carpenter, 25, won, Swift lept to her feet to cheer for her pal. Record of the Year and Song of the Year then both went to Lamar, 37, as Swift was seen dancing to âNot Like Usâ in the crowd. At the end of the broadcast, it was announced that BeyoncĂ©âs Cowboy Carter took home the prize for Album of the Year, her first in the category. Swift subsequently toasted the honor in the crowd with BeyoncĂ©âs husband, Jay-Z.
Swift landed six Grammy nominations this year: Album of the Year and Best Pop Vocal Album for The Tortured Poets Department, Record of the Year, Song of the Year and Best Music Video for âFortnightâ featuring Post Malone and Best Pop Duo/Group Performance for her âUs.â collaboration with Gracie Abrams. The Best Pop Duo/Group Performance hardware ultimately went to Lady Gaga and Bruno Marsâ âDie With a Smile.â
In each of the categories, Swift faced some tough competition. For Album of the Year, she was up against AndrĂ© 3000âs New Blue Sun, BeyoncĂ©âs Cowboy Carter, Sabrina Carpenterâs Short nâ Sweet, Charli XCXâs Brat, Jacob Collierâs Djesse Vol. 4, Billie Eilishâs Hit Me Hard and Soft and Chappell Roanâs The Rise and Fall of a Midwest Princess.
As for Best Pop Vocal Album, Swift competed against Short nâ Sweet, Hit Me Hard and Soft, The Rise and Fall of a Midwest Princess and Ariana Grandeâs Eternal Sunshine.
For Record of the Year, Swiftâs âFortnightâ went up against The Beatlesâ âNow and Then,â BeyoncĂ©âs âTexas Hold âEm,â Carpenterâs âEspresso,â Charliâs â360,â Eilishâs âBirds of a Feather,â Kendrick Lamarâs âNot Like Usâ and Roanâs âGood Luck, Babe!â
In the Song of the Year category, âFortnightâ competed against âBirds of a Feather,â âGood Luck, Babe!,â âNot Like Us,â âTexas Hold âEm,â Shaboozeyâs âA Bar Song (Tipsy),â Lady Gaga and Bruno Marsâ âDie With a Smileâ and Carpenterâs âPlease Please Please.â
For Best Music Video, âFortnightâ faced off against A$AP Rockyâs âTailor Swif,â Charliâs â360,â Eminemâs âHoudiniâ and Lamarâs âNot Like Us.â
Finally, Swiftâs âUs.â vied for Best Pop Duo/Group Performance in a field of nominees that included BeyoncĂ© and Maloneâs âLeviiâs Jeans,â Charli and Eilishâs âGuess,â Grande, Brandy and Monicaâs âThe Boy Is Mineâ and Gaga and Marsâ âDie With a Smile.â
Prior to the 2025 Grammys, Swift racked up 14 wins throughout her career, including four Album of the Year trophies for Fearless in 2010, 1989 in 2016, Folklore in 2021 and Midnights in 2024. She also received accolades for Best Country Album for Fearless and Best Country Song and Best Female Country Vocal Performance for âWhite Horseâ in 2010, Best Country Song and Best Country Solo Performance for âMeanâ in 2012, Best Song Written for Visual Media for âSafe & Soundâ from The Hunger Games in 2013, Best Music Video for âBad Bloodâ and Best Pop Vocal Album for 1989 in 2016, Best Music Video for All Too Well: The Short Film in 2023 and Best Pop Vocal Album for Midnights in 2024.
